    • A centrifuge, in particular a separator, includes a rotatable centrifuge drum with a vertical axis of rotation and a non-rotatable fixed housing with a hood and preferably a solids collector. In the centrifuge, the housing, in particular the fixed hood and/or at least one other part of the housing, have at least one first inner wall and a first outer wall which delimit a first cavity. The cavity is at least partly filled with damping/insulation agents that are solid at a process or ambient temperature. A coolant that has a fluid form at a process and/or ambient temperature can be introduced into the first cavity filled with the solid damping/insulation agents.

    • The present disclosure relates to a centrifuge having a vertical axis of rotation, and including a centrifugal drum having a feeding tube for material to be centrifuged, outlet nozzles, and an emergency off system connected in front of the centrifugal drum. The emergency off system includes a feeding system feeding particles into the centrifugal drum. The present disclosure also relates to a method of implementing an emergency off system of the centrifuge. The method steps include: providing an emergency off signal; feeding the particles into the centrifugal drum in response to the emergency off signal; and, wherein the particles plug the outlet nozzles.

    • A centrifuge has a centrifugal drum with a peeling chamber and a hydrohermetic chamber (locking chamber) (7). The centrifuge is so designed that solids deposited at the periphery (outer bottom 19) of the locking chamber (7) are carried away with the overflow stream of the sealing liquid or/and with the flow of the cleaning medium during CIP method of the space located between the centrifugal drum (2) and the centrifuge housing. A second locking chamber lid (1) is located between a locking disk (9) of the locking chamber (7) and a lid (17) for forming with the first lid a flow channel (20) for carrying away solids deposited on the outer bottom of the locking chamber via an overflow weir (16). The centrifuge is used in the field of separation technology, in particular when high hygienic requirements are applied, e.g. in the field of the foodstuff industry.
