A cosmetic product reception indentation, which could comprise a supplemental product tube with a body portion within the applicator tip or a distal end cup, is disposed in an end face of the column core applicator tip, and that end face can be disposed at a miter angle. The supplemental product tube can have a length of at least one-half of the length of the body portion of the column core applicator tip.

The brush head has a cross section with first and second lobes separated by first and second feed grooves. Each feed groove has first and second legs that terminate in a base portion, and each lobe has a first and second application surfaces formed in part by legs of adjacent feed grooves and an arcuate peripheral application surface between and contiguous with the first and second application surfaces. The application surfaces of the lobes can be arcuate, and the surfaces can cooperate to define a smooth bulbous surface. The lobes can have widths of approximately 65 percent of the effective diameter between central portions of the peripheral application surfaces, and the feed grooves can be separated by a distance approximately 10.5 percent of the effective diameter of the brush head.

A laterally disposed distal wiping wiper with a plurality of radial slits can wipe a distal end of the cosmetic applicator, and a side wiping wiper with an inner throat can wipe a peripheral portion of the cosmetic applicator. A cap with a plug can matingly engage the side wiping wiper.

摘要： A mascara brush and method of manufacture thereof provides a mascara brush with bristle fibers that are split into numerous fragments. The mascara brush is made with bristle fibers having longitudinal voids. The brush is then conditioned by passing a rotating wire wheel over the bristle fibers . The wire wheel splits the bristle fibers into numerous bristle fragments. The conditioned brush is softer to the touch than the original mascara brush. The conditioning can be applied to the entire brush or one or more zones of the brush. The conditioning can be shallow, so that only the bristle tips are conditioned, or deep, so that a substantial length of the bristle is conditioned.
