    • An integrated circuit has a circuit component and a heating component thermally coupled together in a region thermally isolated from other parts of the integrated circuit. The thermal isolation can be provided by a bridge over a cavity in the substrate or caps over a thin substrate. A control circuit, which may be responsive to a sensing component thermally coupled to the heating component, controls the heating component to heat the circuit component to a temperature greater than that of the other parts of the integrated circuit, to control a temperature-dependent characteristic of the circuit component. The circuit component can for example be a resistor whose resistance is precisely determined and/or adjusted via the control circuit.

    • A DC converter comprises a half bridge supply circuit and one or more flyback or forward converter output circuits, and optionally also an LLC converter whose control can determine a common variable switching frequency. The half bridge supply circuit produces a 50% duty output alternating between two input voltages, such as zero and a voltage Vin. In each flyback or forward converter output circuit, a switch connects a transformer primary to the half bridge supply circuit output in a PWM controlled manner to regulate a respective flyback or forward converter DC output which is produced by the converter output circuit, with a duty ratio less than 50% whereby switching losses are reduced. Soft switching is further facilitated by the half bridge supply circuit having two transistors controlled in a complementary manner.

    • Power generating component connectivity testing methods and apparatus are disclosed. At a power generating component, a connectivity testing condition is detected. A connectivity testing procedure is performed on detection of the connectivity testing condition, to test connectivity in a system that includes the power generating component and an unpowered electrical system. Connectivity is tested before the electrical system is connected to a power grid. An indication of connectivity can be provided by receiving connectivity information indicating connectivity between power generating components and the unpowered electrical system; and providing a representation of the connectivity between the power generating testing procedure components and the electrical system. This representation could include, for example, one or more of: a connectivity alert, a visual representation of the power generating components; and a visual representation of the electrical system.
