    • A method and system for routing channels in which messages are transmitted from a source application to a destination application. The system includes a finite-state machine, source message queues, and a source queue manager for managing the source message queues. The source message queues include a transmission queue for holding a first message for subsequent transmission of the first message from the transmission queue over a first channel to a local queue of the destination application. The method includes: activating the finite-state machine; and performing or not performing a channel routing action, by the finite-state machine, depending on: a channel event having caused the first channel to be started or stopped, a channel sender set for the first channel, and an event type characterizing the channel event as normal or abnormal. The channel routing action is a function of the channel event, the channel sender, and the event type.

    • Systems are provided for costing service proposals, each comprising a set of proposal elements (OEs) selected from a predetermined group of proposal elements. A proposal costing system has a proposal formulator for selecting a set of proposal elements (OEs) for a new service proposal from the predetermined group of proposal elements in response to user input. The system includes a cost controller for maintaining, for each OE, service data indicative of service tasks associated with that proposal element. The system is adapted for determining a total cost for a new service proposal in dependence on the service data for the selected proposal elements and cost data indicating a cost of service tasks indicated by the service data. In addition, the cost controller is adapted for automatically updating the service data for OEs in the group in dependence on maintenance data indicative of service tasks performed in operation of real services.

    • A motor vehicle screen wiper comprises a screen wiper arm having a drive head fastened on an end portion of a motor shaft, which is part of a screen wiper drive unit. The motor shaft end portion comprises a conical portion which is received in a complementary through hole associated with the drive head, and which is extended by a threaded terminal shank on to which a fastening nut is screwed. The radial thrust face of the nut cooperates with a portion, in facing relationship with it, of the upper face of the drive head. The drive head comprises an orientation ring in which the conical through hole is formed, with one face of the orientation ring being formed with a set of ridges which cooperate with a complementary ridged engagement surface formed, in facing relationship with the ridged face of the orientation ring, on the body of the drive head. The body is formed with an oblong through hole through which the end portion of the motor shaft extends.
