摘要： A SCSI-2-and-DMA processor that has on a single integrated circuit a SCSI-2 interface for a SCSI-2 data bus that is at least two bytes wide and a DMA interface for a system data bus that is at least two bytes wide. This integrated circuit has an set of control registers and an on-chip processor such that the transfers involving SCSI-2 data transfers involving data words that have a width of at least two bytes can be processed and completed without burdening the remainder of the system. Substantially all that is needed of the system processor is to down load a very compact control program and then transfers between this integrated circuit and system RAM. The on-chip processor allows chaining of random length blocks of contiguous address data by using a chain mode of transfer which also pairs up any odd residue with a portion of the first word of the next block in the chain using on-chip processing.

摘要： A fuel reservoir comprises a tank having a base wall and side walls. In order to minimize the accumulation of water in the tank two pick-up pipes, are provided which are connected together to an outlet pipe. The first pick-up pipe extends to adjacent the base wall of the tank and the second pick-up pipe to some distance above the base wall. In use fuel and water will be drawn through the outlet pipe and in the event that the water in the tank freezes fuel can be drawn through the second pick-up pipe.

摘要： A fuel system for a compression ignition engine includes a high pressure pump to which fuel is supplied through a filter by a low pressure pump. A fuel heater is provided to supply heat to the fuel. Fuel is returned from the housing of the high pressure pump through a conduit which includes in a valve housing a restricted orifice. The valve housing also includes temperature responsive means which when the fuel temperature is low reduces the size of the orifice.

摘要： A low pressure fuel supply system supplies fuel which tends partially to solidify at low temperatures and whose viscosity increases with decreasing temperature, from a fuel tank along a supply line, through a filter, to a fuel injection pump. A fuel recirculating circuit for recirculating fuel warmed by the injection pump extends from a return outlet of the injection pump, along a path extending through the filter to the injection pump inlet. A permanent bleed pipe extends to the fuel tank from the portion of the recirculating circuit between the injection pump return outlet and the filter. The flow-resistance-determining dimensions of the permanent bleed pipe are such that the pipe presents increasing resistance to the flow of fuel therein with decreasing fuel temperature. It therefore carries little flow at low temperatures of the fuel therein, most of the warmed fuel from the injection pump return outlet being directed into the filter. Blockage of the filter by solidified portions of the fuel is thus avoided. Under normal operating conditions when the fuel temperature is higher, fuel flows more quickly through the permanent bleed pipe and so more of the warmed fuel is returned from the injection pump return outlet to the fuel tank, thus preventing overheating of the fuel and of the injection pump.
