    • A biocompatible material is made of a rust-resistant, alloyed stainless steel which is configured with at least one martensitic surface layer which is formed by a heat treatment with nitrogen case hardening and subsequent cooling. The surface layer, orthogonally to the surface into the sample interior, displaying a virtually linear course of the accompanying hardening and being achieved by a complete phase change (so-called austenitising) in the structural state from ferrite via austenite to martensite. In addition, the biocompatible material is in contact preferably indirectly or directly with the human body, no reactions and/or sensitivity problems being able to occur even in permanent use as a result of its absolute freedom from nickel.

    • A universal mounting assembly for a light duty snow plow using a lower triangular frame, an upper triangular frame and a pair of spaced-apart rearwardly directed tubular members for attaching the lower triangular frame to a vehicle. The mounting assembly can be secured to a vehicle using a quick release mechanism regardless of the vehicles ground clearance. Additionally, the plow can be used in any one of a plurality of predetermined positions with the bottom edge of the snow plow blade remaining substantially flat against the surface to be plowed. An electric winch that is supplied power from the battery of the vehicle to which the snow plow is mounted, is used to raise and lower the snow plow.

    • A wax spray gun and spray nozzle for discharging an atomized stream of molten wax onto a vehicle body component or other substrate comprises a gun body having an atomizing chamber within which an internal wax spray nozzle and atomizing cap are located. A stream of atomizing air is tangentially directed into the atomizing chamber to form a rotating, swirling stream of atomizing air which is accelerated through a venturi inlet formed in the atomizing cap to impact and thoroughly atomize molten wax discharged from the internal spray nozzle. The atomized stream of molten wax is then discharged from the gun body into an external nozzle which preferably comprises a nozzle body having a wall formed with external threads which carry a coil spring. A flat is formed in the wall of the nozzle body with a discharge opening therein over which at least two spaced spring wires are positioned in the path of atomized molten wax emitted from the discharge opening. The atomized molten wax contacts the spring wire and is further atomized and deflected in a diffuse pattern for deposition onto a substrate.

    • A moisture vapor permeable sheet material is comprised of a homogeneous admixture of a synthetic polymer material and a protein derivative. The sheet material is moisture vapor permeable and non-penetrable by liquid water. The sheet material additionally can have coated thereon a pressure sensitive adhesive which is comprised of a synthetic organic polymer adhesive and a soluble protein derivative in solid solution. Sheet material is formed by providing a homogeneous fluid solution of a soluble protein derivative and a synthetic organic polymer in a solvent. The protein derivative has a pH level compatible with the pH level of the organic polymer. Film is formed from the homogeneous fluid solution and the solvent is removed from the film to form the sheet material which is moisture vapor permeable. When the sheet material includes an adhesive, the adhesive is coated as a fluid solution in a solvent on one side of the sheet material.
