    • An implantable lead comprises a lead body extending from a lead proximal end portion to a lead distal end portion. The lead body includes one or more longitudinally extending lumens. A conductor is received in, and extends along, a lumen. In varying examples, the implantable lead further comprises a tubular electrode co-axial with, and overlying portions of, the lead body. In one example, a lumen wall is sized and shaped to urge an electrically conductive interposer coupled with the conductor toward an inner surface of the electrode. In another example, a ring member is disposed within a lumen and the conductor is drawn and coupled thereto. In yet another example, an electrically conductive connector couples a first and a second conductor via grooves or threads. In a further example, an axial support member couples a distal end electrode and the lead body. Methods associated with the foregoing are also discussed.

The driver is displaceable into the expandable passage and has at least one outer dimension that is larger than the at least one internal dimension of the expandable passage. An example method includes disposing a first member having a first cross-section in a lead assembly having a lead axis, an expandable passage, and a displaceable member proximate the expandable passage. The method further includes urging the first member into the expandable passage in the lead assembly, and urging the displaceable member away from the lead axis to expand the expandable passage.

    • A two-part implantable cardiac pacing lead is usable with a cardiac function management device. The lead includes an outer lead portion having a lead body and a conductive coil extending substantially from the proximal end to the distal end. The lead body defines an internal longitudinal lumen. The lead further includes a surface electrode coupled to the lead body near the distal end and a sleeve defining an internal bore. The sleeve mechanically couples to the proximal end of the lead body and is electrically insulated from the conductive coil. The lead further includes an inner lead portion having a pin adapted to mechanically engage the internal bore. The pin is adapted for electrically coupling with a longitudinally-extending conductive member sized to fit within the internal longitudinal lumen. A method of using the lead.

    • One or more multi-electrode lead coupled to a cardiac sensor/stimulator. Each lead includes a lead body extending from one lead proximal end portion to one lead distal end portion. Each lead further includes at least three tissue sensing/stimulation electrodes disposed along the lead body and at least three terminal connections disposed along the lead proximal end. The tissue sensing/stimulation electrodes are each adapted to sense or stimulate a subject's heart. The cardiac sensor/stimulator includes a signal processing circuit adapted to sense the heart in a first instance and stimulate the heart in a second instance by way of one or more tissue electrode configurations. The configurations are selectable from any combination of the tissue sensing/stimulation electrodes of each implanted lead and an indifferent return electrode. In one example, the signal processing circuit automatically selects the tissue electrode configurations. In another example, a user (manually) selects the tissue electrode configurations.

In an example, at least a portion of the tube is formed into a helix. The conductor is electrically coupled to the internal surface of the first tube. An example method includes winding a tubular electrode around a mandrel, extending a conductor through a lumen in a lead body for a medical device lead assembly, and extending the conductor into the tubular electrode.
