A method of making a female coaxial connector, which comprises the steps of stamping conductive shells and protective members in integral form, folding the integral conductive shell and protective member at a bend to form a double structure, and making the double structured conductive shell and protective member into cylindrical form, followed by the insertion of an assembly of a dielectric body and a female terminal into the conductive shell.

    • An L-type coaxial plug connector adapted to be connected to one end of a coaxial cable has a crimp sleeve on the outer sheath of the coaxial cable and adapted to be collapsed so as to fix the coaxial cable to the plug connector. The outer shell has a cylindrical portion holding a dielectric member in which the central terminal is fixed, a cylindrical outer conductor fitting portion adapted to be inserted into the boundary between the inner dielectric layer and the outer conductor of the coaxial cable, and an intermediate portion which extends axially from a portion of the upper circumferential edge of the cylindrical portion so as to connect the portion of the cylindrical portion to the corresponding portion of the lower circumferential edge of the outer conductor fitting portion, such that the axes of said cylindrical portion and the outer conductor fitting portion extend in parallel with each other. The intermediate portion has a U-shaped arm portion which extends from the intermediate portion in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the cylindrical portion, and a cover portion which is adapted to cover the adjacent open end of the cylindrical portion when the intermediate portion is flexed substantially orthogonally towards the U-shaped arm portion.

    • There is disclosed a coaxial lightning arresting structure comprising an inner conductor, an outer conductor surrounding the inner conductor and an arrester tube located between the inner and outer conductors perpendicularly to the direction of transmission and connected at its ends to the inner and outer conductors, respectively. The portion of the inner conductor provided with the arrester tube has a reduced effective sectional area as compared with the other portions of the inner conductor so that the ratio of the outer conductor inner diameter to the outer diameter of the inner conductor portion having the reduced effective sectional area is greater than the ratio of the outer conductor inner diameter to the inner conductor outer diameter at the other portions of the inner conductor which latter ratio provides the coaxial transmission line with a given characteristic impedance.
