    • A contact capable of facilitating adjustment of impedance and ensuring a high holding force when held in a housing. To a contact portion capable of being brought into contact with a pad on a module substrate, a spring portion is connected for pressing the contact portion against the pad. A press-fitting portion that is press-fitted into the housing is connected to the spring portion, and has a connecting portion connected thereto. A terminal portion to be connected to a pad on a motherboard is connected to the connecting portion. The spring portion is bent in a manner folded back from the rear end of the press-fitting portion in the inserting direction, toward a front side in the inserting direction. The connecting portion extends from the rear end of the press-fitting portion in the inserting direction, toward a rear side in the inserting direction.

    • A connector which enables effective use of the space on a circuit board effectively, and facilitates impedance matching between contacts. The connector is comprised of a first connector section (1) and a second connector section (2). A receiving hole (11d) is formed in a first housing (11) of the first connector section (1), for receiving and holding a terminal section (71) of a first function expansion card (7). A plurality of contacts (12, 13) are arranged in the first housing (11), for electrically connecting the first function expansion card (7) to a printed wiring board (9).     • In the hinge connector used for an electronic equipment, a first housing has a first hinge connector portion 75 in a hinge unit 27, and a second housing a second hinge connector portion 77 in the hinge unit 27. The second hinge connector portion 77 is housed in the hinge unit 27 slidably between a position in which the hinge connector portion is housed in the hinge unit 27 and a position in which the hinge connector portion projects out from the hinge unit 27, the first housing and second housing being mechanically combined together, the first and second hinge connector portions being then connected together by slidingly moving the second hinge connector portion in the direction crossing the mentioned combining direction at right angles thereto, the first housing and second housing being thereby electrically connected together. This structure enables a hinge connector capable of preventing damage to the connector portions, i.e. electrically combined portions, which would occur when housings of an electronic equipment are mechanically combined with the connector portions constituting portions to be electrically combined, by separating from each other a structure of the portions to be electrically combined and that of portions to be mechanically combined; and an electronic equipment using the same hinge connector to be provided.

    • Disclosed is a connector wherein a stationary separator portion (320), and an accommodation portion (310) which receives an actuator (400) above the separator and which receives an end of an FPC/FFC (700) below the separator, are provided within a housing (300). A force receiving portion (220) and a contact portion (210) of a contact (200), which constitute a bifurcated shape, are disposed above and below the separator portion (320), respectively. When the force receiving portion (220) is moved upward by a turning operation of the actuator (400) above the separator portion (320), the contact portion (210) is abutted with a signal layer (730) of the FPC/FFC (700). In this respect, the position of a ground member (500) which holds the FPC/FFC (700) in conjunction with the contact portion (210) and the position of the separator portion (320) are not changed and, accordingly, the contact (200) between the contact portion (210) and the single layer (730) is stabilized. Thus, the reliability of the contact between the contact portion of the contact and the FPC/FFC (700) can be improved.
