摘要： A portable storage device (MC) is disclosed, which comprises a memory (MEM) for storing data (DAT), a data interface (INT) for exchanging data (DAT) between the memory (MEM) and a host device (DEV), radio communication interface (RI) designed for receiving a key (K) from a transponder (T), checking means (COMP) for checking if a key (K) has a predefined value (V, and access inhibit means (SW) for controlling access to the memory (MEM), wherein the access inhibit means (SW) are controlled by the checking means (COMP). Access to the memory (MEM) is only granted if a certain key (K) can be received, which means that a certain transponder (T) has to be in the vicinity of the portable storage device (MC) for granting access. Furthermore, data (DAT) which is transferred from host device (DEV) to memory (MEM) can be encrypted and data (DAT) which is transferred from memory (MEM) to host device (DEV) can be decrypted. In this way for example commonly used memory cards can be secured against unauthorized use.

摘要： A tire with a changing tread pattern is formed by first forming a tire having a tread, the tread having at least one circumferential or lateral groove. Formed separately is a wearable filler, the wearable filler having a configuration corresponding to at least a portion of the circumferential or lateral groove formed in the tire. After both the tire and the wearable filler have been cured, the wearable filler is located in the radially outer portion of the circumferential or lateral groove or a portion of the circumferential or lateral groove, and secured within the grooves so as to create a groove void radially inward of the wearable filler, the void being exposed upon wear of the tire tread.

The method including: (a) computing a worst-case duration of a breathing cycle (P) for the storage device (110); (b) starting a breathing cycle; (c) determining if one of the following becomes true before the end of P: (i) a number of real-time requests is at least a predetermined threshold based on a number of data streams and performance parameters of the storage device; and (ii) a number of pending requests for any single stream becomes more than one; (d) if at least one of (i) and (ii) remain true during the duration of P, starting a subsequent breathing cycle after completion of the breathing cycle; and (e) if both of (i) and (ii) are not true during the duration of P, waiting P time units from the start of the breathing cycle before starting the subsequent breathing cycle.

摘要： This invention concerns new biocidal compounds of formula (I) wherein R is H or CH3. Of particular interest are two isomers that are named malayamycin A and desmethylmalayamycin A. These isomers, which may be prepared by growing under controlled conditions a previously unknown strain of micro-organism from the species Streptomyces malaysiensis, are characterised by nmr and mass spectroscopic data. They have biocidal activity, including anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-cancer activity, and are of special interest for use in agriculture, horticulture, animal and human health.
