    • Circuit and method for determining a received signal for a receiver such as a simulcast receiver or an HDTV receiver are provided. The circuit includes a first detector for detecting a first reference signal included in a received signal and outputting a first detection signal, and a second detector for detecting a second reference signal included in the received signal and outputting a second detection signal. The circuit also includes a generator for generating a determination signal which indicates that the received signal is an analog broadcasting signal in the event the first detection signal is detected, and indicates that the received signal is a high definition signal in the event if the second detection signal is detected. Therefore, the received signal can be determined correctly, according to channel selection.

    • The present invention relates to a motion signal processor in which a motion signal for a video signal is generated by frame difference circuit. The resultant signal is spatially low-pass filtered. The absolute value of the motion signal is calculated. Spatial correlation is imposed on the motion signal by assigning each sample the greatest value of a series of samples within an image window. The motion signal samples are then compared to a threshold value to generate a 1-bit signal. From the 1-bit signal a motion area is presumed by adaptively smoothing the motion signal based upon its the spatial correlation.

    • A device for canceling co-channel interference and a method thereof are provided. The device, in a simulcast receiver for receiving a high definition television (HDTV) signal having a digital format and an analog broadcasting TV signal, includes a detector for detecting a synchronous signal from the analog broadcasting TV signal and outputting a detection signal, a co-channel interference rejection filter for removing co-channel interference from a first input signal including co-channel interference and outputting a second input signal, and a selector for selecting either the first or second input signal according to the detection signal.     • A method for preventing a collision of an extended orthogonal code uses an extended orthogonal code applying a hadamard code, and prevents an extended orthogonal code's collision occurred by a duplicated address among a plurality of subscriber channels, in a wideband code division multiple access wireless local loop (WCDMA-WLL) communication system. The method effectively prevents an address collision among a plurality of channels in case that the channels having different data transmission speeds are simultaneously transmitted by using one WCDMA-WLL frequency. As a result, when a plurality of subscribers is divided by using an extended orthogonal code in a WCDMA-WLL system supporting a multiple-data transmission speed, the method prevents an allocation of a collidable matrix code. Also, the method prevents an error generated in dividing subscriber channels caused by a code collision, and thus enhances a reliability and a stability of a communication system.
