摘要： Negative-Working Lithographic Printing Plate Precursors can be provided with desired contrast coloration after imaging using a coloring fluid that includes a water-insoluble colorant that is soluble in a water-insoluble fatty alcohol. The coloring fluid provides an optical density change in the exposed regions of at least OD2 that is greater than the original optical density of those regions, OD1. The coloring fluid can be applied immediately after imaging and before processing, or it can be applied as part of the developer or processing solution, or it can be applied after processing. The coloring fluid can also be applied to imaged precursors that are designed for either off-press or on-press development.

摘要： A laser imageable flexographic printing plate precursor comprises a thermoset elastomeric upper layer that is at least partially ablatable and comprises a radiation sensitive compound, and a non-ablatable elastomeric underlayer. This flexographic printing plate precursor can be imaged to provide a printing plate that is primarily useful for “high quality” printing because the resulting relief image is generally not greater than 600 μm and has an extremely even “floor”. The imaged flexographic printing plate also can have a high visual contrast between the imaged areas and the non-imaged background areas.

摘要： A blank printed circuit board (10), for creating a circuit pattern thereon by direct imaging with infrared radiation. The blank printed circuit board (10) includes in sequence an insulating substrate (20), a metal layer (21), a resist layer (22) and a mask layer (23). The resist layer (22) has been deposited from an organic solution, has a thickness of between 3 microns and 30 microns and includes three components: a first component, constituting 35% to 75% of the layer by weight and including acrylic monomers and oligomers, capable of polymerising when and where irradiated by ultraviolet radiation in the presence of photoinitiators, such polymerisation constituting curing of respective portions of the resist layer, a second component, constituting up to 10% of the layer by weight and including photoinitiators and synergists; and the third component, constituting 10% to 50% of the layer by weight and including binder resins that are soluble in water or in dilute aqueous alkali solvents, as well as nonalkali solvents. The mask layer (23) has been deposited from an aqueous suspension which has a thickness of between 0.3 microns and 6 microns, and includes between 80% and 100% by weight of carbon black and not more than 10% by weight of binder resins.

The resultant inked image is then fixed, such that it can not be smeared, smudged or distorted on the substrate, by placing a coating over at least the image. 摘要： In addition to having two lithographic layers of complementary lithographic character, an electrically inscribable lithographic printing blank may be provided with a solid but solvent-removable protective surface layer serving to inhibit spurious abrasion of the underlying layer during inscription of the blank and prior handling and storage. To prepare a printing plate from the blank, an electric current is passed between the blank and an electrical stylus so as to inscribe through the protective layer and immediately underlying layer and expose the bottom layer locally, whereafter the protective layer is removed by treatment with solvent to expose the surface of the underlying layer.

摘要： A color contrast image in imaged lithographic printing precursors can be obtained by contacting the imaged precursor with a coloration solution containing a colorless form of a photochromic compound. Residual amounts of this compound attached to the oleophilic surface of the imaged precursor can be changed to its colored form when exposed to UV light. The coloration solution can be an alkaline or acidic developer or an alkaline or acidic solution used separately after development. The coloration solution can also be a gum solution.
