摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel having first and second scanning lines, first and second video lines, a first scanning line driving circuit, a second scanning line driving circuit, at least one first video line driving circuit, at least one second video line driving circuit, a backlight having a number of light sources, and a light controlling circuit for controlling the turning on and off of the backlight. The first scanning lines are divided into M groups where M is an integer of 2 or more (M≧2), the second scanning lines are divided into N groups where N is an integer of 2 or more (N≧2), the region of the backlight which corresponds to the first scanning lines is divided into M regions, and the region which corresponds to the second scanning lines is divided into N regions.

摘要： TFTs are formed on a substrate. An interlayer insulation film is formed on the substrate to cover the TFTs. Lower layer portions of SD lines formed of a multi-layered film which are formed on the interlayer insulation film constitute a lower electrode of an organic EL layer. An uppermost layer of the SD line is formed of a chemically stable metal oxide film, and the SD layer is used as it is. On the other hand, as a lower electrode of an organic EL layer, an upper layer of the SD line is removed and an Al—Si, alloy film of the SD line is used. Due to such a constitution, it is possible to reduce a cost by shortening steps while holding the performance and the reliability of organic EL.

摘要： The present inventions enhances the brightness at a center portion of a display screen in a liquid crystal display device used in a TV set having a direct backlight. Odd-number pieces of fluorescent lamps are used in the inside of the backlight. Using external electrode fluorescent lamps as the fluorescent lamps, electrodes of the respective fluorescent lamps can be connected in common. Further, one fluorescent lamp can be arranged at the center of the display screen. Due to such a constitution, the liquid crystal display device can effectively ensure the brightness at the center of the display screen.

摘要： The present invention can prolong a lifetime of a liquid crystal display device by suppressing the increase of a leak current attributed to the deflection of a cold cathode fluorescent lamp toward a lower frame side. An insulating member is arranged right below a cold cathode fluorescent lamp and above a lower frame. A reflecting sheet is arranged above the insulating member. The insulating member is formed in a block shape having a rectangular cross section. A fixed or more amount of distance is ensured between the cold cathode fluorescent lamp and the reflecting sheet thus suppressing the increase of the leak current.
