    • In case of temporarily spooling an intermediate language by a printer driver, a high speed print can be performed by suppressing a size and the number of holding data. The printer driver adds a tag of each draw object type to information of a draw command received through a DDI function and holds the resultant information into a primary buffer together with attributes such as draw position information, color information, pattern information, and draw logic information. When the information is held into the primary buffer, if there is a draw object which has already been held, if the types and the draw attributes of the draw objects are identical, the draw object is additionally registered into the primary buffer. If one of “type is different”, “data cannot be fully stored into the primary buffer”, “draw attribute changes”, and “page process is completed” is satisfied, a PDF (Page Data File) is generated from the draw object which has already been held in the primary buffer and spooled.

    • The present invention is directed to providing, in an apparatus and method for generating print commands suited to a particular printing apparatus, both high-speed printing of simple pages that are relatively easily processed as well as improved continuous throughput of complex pages that are relatively difficult to process. The apparatus obtains and integrates data size and command numbers from the generated print commands and switches the print command generation from page units to band units when it appears likely that the page memory will be exceeded, thus mixing page unit print commands and band unit print commands in the same page to achieve improved throughput.

    • Provided are a printing control apparatus and method in which the storage capacity of a hard disk in an information processor is not exploited unnecessarily because identical data that has been distributed to a plurality of users is not stored in a plurality of personal boxes within the information processor, and in which output of such data by the users who manage respective ones of the personal boxes can be managed appropriately by the original distributor of the data. A control unit receives a job instructing storage of prescribed data upon designating one or a plurality box areas in an image input/output system equipped with a personal box function and having a plurality of box areas capable of storing data. Based upon the job, the control unit stores the image data in a prescribed box area and outputs the image data from the prescribed box area. If a job for which storage of the image data in a plurality of box areas has been instructed is received, the control unit stores the image data in a common box area with which the image input/output system has been further provided for the purpose of storing common image data and stores linking information, which provides a link to this image data, in the plurality of box areas.

    • A printer controller receives PDL data from a host computer, which is then analyzed by a PDL analysis program in the order received, and converted to an intermediate-language data, and stored in an intermediate-language-data buffer. When an overlay-registration start command is read, generated intermediate-language data is stored in a file system until an overlay-registeration end command is read. The levels of overlapping between one stored intermediate-language element and the other elements are calculated for each element. When overlapped, the size required to develop the overlapping elements together with the corresponding image data is calculated. The calculated size of the image data is compared with the total size of the original intermediate-language data. When the image data is smaller in size, the image data is developed and registered as intermediate-language data, thus reducing the total size of the intermediate-language data.
