A standard/independent conversion section converts a file of a standard AV multiplex format wherein video data and audio data are placed in a multiplexed state in a body into a file of an AV independent format wherein video data or audio data are placed collectively in a body. Meanwhile, an independent/standard conversion section converts a file of the AV independent formation into a file of the standard AV multiplex format.

摘要： An information processing apparatus includes a file-time-code (FTC) sort unit and a logical block number (LBN) scheduling unit. The FTC unit sorts data items recorded on an optical disk based on the playback times of the pieces of data. The LBN scheduling unit sorts the data items recorded by the FTC sort unit based on the recording positions of the data items on the optical disk. The LBN scheduling unit also uses the sorting result as the result of scheduling the order of reading the data items from the optical disk.

摘要： A method and apparatus for generating and editing audio and/or video data using thumbnail representations of the data. Thumbnail representations are generated in accordance with clips randomly recorded on a disc, or other storage medium, and edit points are designated for the clips. When thumbnail representations are displayed, the disc is rotated at constant angular velocity (CAV). Video data of the thumbnail representations are read from the disc. When a desired thumbnail representation is selected and designated, the disc drive system is switched from CAV drive mode to constant linear velocity (CLV) drive mode. Video are reproduced from the position of the selected thumbnail representations. Since the thumbnail representations are read in the CAV drive mode that is suitable for randomly accessing the disc, the thumbnail representations can be displayed at high speed.

摘要： A data accessing and reproducing apparatus and method that permits a user to selected desired video clips and perform editing on the clips such that the time needed to display a thumbnail representation is minimized. In an edit mode, thumbnail pictures are arranged and displayed in the order of which edit results are reproduced. These thumbnails may be, for example, a lower resolution, proxy representation of the audio or video data. When data of thumbnail pictures are read from a disc, the data are read in the order of which they have been recorded. The order of which thumbnail pictures are displayed on the screen is different from the order of which they are arranged on the screen, and thus, the seek time for the disc becomes the shortest. Thus, the thumbnail pictures can be displayed at high speed.

By using the phase detector circuit having a circuit configuration containing a delay circuit and a combination of leapt a multiplier circuit and a subtractor circuit, a capability as the PLL circuit of preventing the significant loss of lock can be realized. In addition, since a duty cycle of a pulse appearing at an output terminal 3 of a multiplier circuit 62 approaches 50% as a phase-locked state is approached, a distortion in the phase to voltage conversion characteristic does not appear, and thus high linearity of the phase to voltage conversion characteristic around thus phase-locked point can be realized.
