    • The invention provides an oxidation method which utilizes a processing tube, a combustion chamber connected to the processing tube, inner and outer coaxial guide tubes connected to the combustion chamber, and an auxiliary combustion chamber connected to the combustion chamber, which includes the steps of placing a plurality of objects at predetermined intervals in the processing tube; generating steam in the combustion chamber by combustion of a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen gases and supplying the steam to the processing tube wherein the steam is generated by individually introducing oxygen gas and hydrogen gas into the combustion chamber through the outer and inner coaxial guide tubes and by heating the hydrogen gas in the inner guide tube or both the inner guide tube and the auxiliary combustion chamber such that ignition of the oxygen and hydrogen gases occurs when the gases come into contact with each other; and preventing a flame generated by the ignition of the gases from reaching an interior surface portion of at least one of the auxiliary combustion chamber and the combined chamber.

    • A binding member removing apparatus 300 comprises a tray 30 for mounting thereon a bundle D of document sheets bound with a staple S, a removing unit 410 for removing the staple S from the bundle D of document sheets mounted on the tray 30, and a moving unit for moving the staple S removed by the removing unit 410. The removing unit 410 is provided with an inserting member 411 to be passed between the bundle of document sheets and the binding member binding the bundle of document sheets and the inserting member 411 is provided with a plurality of elongated parts 412 formed in the shape of a comb having teeth extended in the direction of insertion thereof. The inserting member optionally comprises a first inserting member 811 to be passed between the obverse face of the bundle D of document sheets and the staple S and a second inserting member 812 to be passed between the reverse face of the bundle D of document sheets and the staple S as a binding member. The binding member removing device is further provided with discerning means for forming a judgment whether or not the staple S has been removed from the bundle D of document sheets after the operation for removal of the staple S by the removing unit 410.

A loop is formed in the sheet through this difference in rotation speed, and the curling of the sheet caused through the thermal fixing is corrected. A torque limiter (or one-way clutch) is mounted at least in the drive path for either the first or second conveyance path. When a rigid sheet such as thick paper or low-moisture paper—for which curling is not likely—is conveyed, slipping occurs in the drive path due to the rigidity of the sheet itself, and the loop formation is automatically cancelled. When a high-moisture thin sheet, in which curling is likely, is conveyed, no slipping occurs in the drive path and a loop in the opposite direction from the curling is formed, whereby the curling is reliably corrected.

    • An exhaust brake control system includes an input switch for commanding actuation of an exhaust brake, a throttle sensor for sensing that an accelerator pedal has been depressed in excess of a predetermined angle, a control unit for outputting a control signal in dependence upon output signals from the input switch and throttle sensor, and a valve means for opening and closing an exhaust passageway in dependence upon a control signal produced by the control unit. The control unit includes a shift sensor for sensing at least an L-range shift of an automatic transmission, and a servo hydraulic pressure sensor for sensing servo hydraulic pressure that actuates a servo piston for establishing 1st speed range. When the shift sensor senses that the automatic transmission has been shifted to the L range, the control unit outputs a control signal for actuating the valve means to open the exhaust gas passageway at such time that the servo hydraulic pressure sensor outputs a signal indicative of a value greater than a predetermined value. Exhaust braking is applied following attainment of a sufficiently high servo hydraulic pressure immediately after a downshift, thus preventing the engine from stopping at application of exhaust braking. The same is applied to downshifting to "2" range.
