    • A pipe filter and closure assembly comprises a support member in the form of an annular collar or sleeve. In use the collar is positioned wholly within the pipe at some distance from an open (upper) end of the pipe. A filter element in the form of a strainer is releasably mountable to the collar so as to inhibit the passage of solid material through the pipe, whilst allowing the passage of fluids (liquids and gases) therethrough. A closure member in the form of a plug in use is mountable inside the collar to be seated at the strainer. In use when the plug is in place, the flow of material through the pipe is blocked. The location of the assembly or part thereof arrangeable wholly within the pipe reduces the ease of access to and presents significant difficulties for an operator seeking to tamper with the assembly.

    • A performance shell for outdoor music performance comprises a platform providing a performance area for receiving at least one sound source, the platform combining unitarily with a rear wall reflectors, side wall reflector and a canopy reflector to define an enclosure having a front opening for communicating acoustically with an open air audience area. The canopy reflector comprises a main portion extending above the performance area and a projecting portion projecting forwardly of a front edge of the performance area, the canopy reflector further comprising sound diffusion formations on an underside of the main portion and the projecting portion and adapted to provide non-specular reflection of sound from the at least one sound source for enhancing sound received both in the performance area and the audience area.

    • Provided is an automated process for producing accurate statistical models from sample data tables. The process solves for optimal parameters of each statistical model considered, computes test statistics and degrees of freedom in the model, and uses these test statistics and degrees of freedom to establish a complete ordering of the statistical models. In cases where the sample data table is sufficiently small, the process constructs and analyzes all reasonable statistical models that might fit the data table provided. In cases where the number of possible models is prohibitively high, the process begins by constructing and solving more general models and then constructs and solves those more detailed models that are similar to those general models that achieved the highest ordering. In either of these two cases, the process arrives at a statistical model that is highest in the ordering and is thus deemed most suitable to model the sample data table.
