摘要： According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus comprises an elongated body portion having an interior chamber and a tapered end; a transparent dome housing accommodated by the tapered end; a light source housed within the transparent dome housing and capable of emitting light through the transparent dome housing to an external receiver; a battery housed within the interior chamber and electrically coupled with the light source; and a surface detection mechanism coupled with the transparent dome housing and electrically coupled with the light source and the battery, the surface detection mechanism capable of at least one of activating the light source when the apparatus contacts a surface and deactivating the light source when the apparatus does not contact the surface.

摘要： A sound producing apparatus with multi-directivity has two or more speakers to produce music or other types of audio sounds. Each of the speakers can produce audio sounds in a certain direction and at least one speaker is steerable so that its sound propagation direction relative to the others can be changed. Furthermore, one or more speakers can produce audio sounds in an adjustable angular range. One or more of the speakers can be dual-mode speakers, each of which can be operated as a wide-angle speaker or a narrow-angle speaker. With multi-directivity, it is possible to play one type of music in one direction and another type of music in another direction to suit the interests of the audience. The apparatus can be a mobile phone, an audio player, a digital or analog recorder/player, or the like.

摘要： A multi-layer printed wire board (PWB) structure optimized for improved drop reliability, reliable electrical connections under thermal load, and minimal thickness is provided, along with a mobile terminal, including the PWB. The PWB includes alternating conductive layers and insulative layers. The outermost three layers form an interconnect structure constructed of two conductive layers surrounding an insulative-coated conductive layer. The thicknesses of the various layers are optimized to have an increased resistance to mechanical shock resulting from, for instance, a drop onto a hard surface. In addition, the optimized PWB structure has a minimized thickness and an improved resistance to connection failures resulting from cyclical thermal loads.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for facilitating current transmission through a circuit breaker are described. In an exemplary embodiment of the apparatus, a coupler that includes a copper conductive ring having an inner annular wall is provided. The coupler is electrically coupled to the line terminal. A bore extends through the ring, and the bore is sized so that the shaft can extend therethrough. A plurality of copper bristles extend radially inward from the ring inner annular wall, and the bristles are in electrical contact with the conductive ring. The bristles also are in electrical contact with shaft when shaft extends through ring bore. At least some bristles extend sufficiently radially inward from the ring inner wall so that free ends of at least some bristles are in electrical contact with the shaft when the shaft extends through the bore.
