    • A disc centering device includes a base plate, a chuck which is installed on the base plate, a hub unit which is detachably engaged to the chuck and receives discs and spacers to be stacked, disc pushers which are slidably provided outside the hub unit and include corresponding pressure members which center the discs by pushing circumferences of the discs, a driving unit which slides the disc pushers, and biasing units which are slidably provided outside the hub unit and push circumferences of the spacers. Accordingly, by performing a spacer biasing along with a disc centering, the accuracy of a centering is increased, thereby providing the discs having data recorded thereon with a uniform quality. Additionally, vibration of a rotation body can be minimized due to the simple configuration of the disc centering device. Furthermore, the productivity and manufacturability of HDDs are improved in view of the simplified maintenance and repair of the same.

    • Disclosed is a substrate alignment apparatus capable of performing coarse and fine alignments of a substrate in a progressing route to remove or reduce an alignment error between the substrate and a pattern roll. The coarse alignment may be performed by moving a frame using a stage when the alignment error is relatively large, and the fine alignment may be performed by moving subsidiary rollers of a roller unit relative to a main roller of a roller unit when the alignment error is relatively small. An example substrate alignment apparatus may include a frame and a roller unit rotatably fixed to the frame to support a substrate, wherein the roller unit includes a main roller, and at least one subsidiary roller fixed to the main roller such that the at least one subsidiary roller can move relative to the main roller to align the substrate.

    • A disk chuck which centers and clamps data storage disks during a disk formatting process. The disk chuck is designed to clamp or unclamp the disks at the same time. The disk chuck includes a hollow main shaft which orderly fits and seats the disks thereon and a piston which is situated in the hollow main shaft so as to axially move in the hollow main shaft in opposite directions. A clamping shaft is axially received in the hollow main shaft and coupled to the piston so as to move along with the piston in the same direction to clamp or unclamp the disks seated on the hollow main shaft. An upper end of the clamping shaft having a disk clamping part extends to project beyond an upper end of the hollow main shaft.
