    • A banknote handling apparatus 10 comprises a casing 12, an inlet 20 configured for inserting banknotes into the casing 12 from the exterior thereof, a plurality of storages 40 provided in a lower portion of the casing 12, in a substantially horizontal direction and in parallel relative to one another, and respectively adapted for storing therein the banknotes, and an escrow storage 42 juxtaposed with the respective storages 40 in the casing and adapted for escrowing therein the banknotes inserted into the casing 12 from the exterior thereof through the inlet 20. A transport unit 30 adapted for transporting the banknotes between any two of the inlet 20, respective storages 40 and escrow storage 42 is provided above the respective storages 40 and escrow storage 42 in the casing 12. In addition, a plurality of diverters 36 are provided at diversion points 35 in the transport unit 30 toward each of the storages 40 and escrow storage 42, respectively. Each diverter 36 is adapted for diverting the banknotes transported by the transport unit 30 into a specified storage 40 or escrow storage 42.

    • In a rotor of a rotary-electric machine, in order to improve a cooling performance of a rotor winding, in a rotor winding on an end portion of the rotor in an axial direction, the rotor winding being held by a retaining ring of the rotor winding formed by laminating a plurality of conductors in slots of a rotor iron core extending in an axial direction and having a plurality of slots formed at predetermined intervals in a peripheral direction, ventilation channels through which cooling air flows are formed in the surfaces of the conductors along a longitudinal direction. The ventilation channels have air inlet holes which guide the cooling air and exhaust holes which exhaust the cooling air, the conductors provided with the ventilation channels which are formed in the surfaces of the conductors along the longitudinal direction and through which the cooling air flows are laminated to constitute the rotor winding, and the conductors include openings of the air inlet holes in bottoms of the conductors on a side opposite to a side on which the ventilation channels are formed.

    • A rotating electrical machine includes: a rotor comprising a rotor core and a field winding wound round the rotor core; and a stator comprising a stator core and a stator winding wound round the stator core. The stator is arranged in opposition to the rotor with a predetermined spacing therebetween. the stator core is formed by punching a split piece, which comprises teeth for insertion of the stator winding thereinto and a core back on an outer periphery thereof, from a magnetic steel sheet, and laminating a plurality of those circular configurations in an axial direction, in which a plurality of the split pieces are arranged in a circle in a circumferential direction. The stator core has magnetic steel sheets, which are different in magnetic permeability in a diametrical direction, laminated at an axial end region of and in an axial central region of the stator core.
