    • An AC generator control apparatus for automobiles includes a car battery charged by the rectified output from an AC generator for automobiles; a voltage regulator circuit for intermittently controlling the exciting current flowing through the field coil of the AC generator and adjusting the generated output voltage into a set value; and a set signal output unit for outputting to the voltage regulator circuit an output voltage value set signal of the AC generator depending on the detection results of various operation states of automobiles. The voltage regulator circuit includes a set value switching means for switching and setting a value of an output voltage of the AC generator depending on the contents of the set signal input from the set signal output unit; an output voltage detection means for detecting the output voltage of the AC generator; and an exciting current control means for intermittently controlling the exciting current depending on the comparison result between the set values of the detected output voltage and the output voltage of the AC generator.

    • A starter motor control device comprising a starter motor for starting an engine, an auxiliary switch which can interrupt the energization to the starter motor, a circuit for detecting the rotation speed of the engine or other mechanism related to the rotation speed of the engine to output a signal for preventing the starter motor from being conversely driven by the started engine, a circuit for restraining the starter motor from being energized again for a predetermined time just after the energize to the starter motor is cutoff, a first detecting means having a first set value for judging the voltage at an auxiliary switch driving terminal of a switching element for driving the auxiliary switch, a second detecting means having a second set value for judging the voltage of the auxiliary switch driving terminal, and a circuit for determining the operation of the switching element based on the judgements given by the first and the second detection means.

    • A starter protection device which substantially operates with only a signal from a key switch, does not require wiring from an alternator or the like, and can be standardized and reduced in size can be obtained. The starter protection device for opening a starter auxiliary switch (5) under a certain condition to protect a starter (2) for starting an engine, by making the starter (2) inoperable. The starter protection device comprises a switch circuit (716) closed by turning on a key switch (6) for closing the starter auxiliary switch (5), a timer circuit (715) that starts operating at the same time the key switch (6) is turned on, and a timer circuit (710) that starts operating at the same time the key switch (6) is released, wherein the opening and closing of the switch circuit (716) is controlled based on outputs of the first and second timer circuits.
