摘要： An information processing system having a screen display device and an input device with an improved operability in selecting a reactive area, i.e., an icon, on the screen using the input device. When a user clicks a mouse button with a mouse cursor positioned outside a reactive area displayed on a screen, the reactive area is extended and an extended portion is displayed. If the mouse cursor is moved into the extended portion and the mouse button is clicked, a process corresponding to the original reactive area is activated and the extended display is cancelled.
