No complicated electrical control devices and programs are required for adjusting and adapting a power chuck (3) linked to the draw rod (3) to different operating conditions.

    • The device for transferring a pressure medium has a stationary outer component with first pressure medium channels and an inner, rotatably drivable component inside the stationary outer component radially spaced at a distance from the stationary outer component. The inner component has second pressure medium channels. The outer component is connected to the housing of a machine tool and the inner component is connected to the machine spindle. A first and a second intermediate member in the form of an annulus are provided. The first and second intermediate members are positioned fixedly in the space between the inner and the outer components for bridging the distance between them. The first intermediate member has at least one first connecting channel and the second intermediate member has at least one second connecting channel. The at least one first connecting channel connects one of the first pressure medium channels to one of the second pressure medium channels and the at least one second connecting channel connects one of the first pressure medium channels to one of the second pressure medium channels. The first and the second intermediate members are laterally supported at one of the components so as to each define two radially extending sealing gaps and are displaceable relative to the other of the components.

    • A device for transferring a pressure medium has a first stationary component and a second component that is inserted into the first stationary component such that it is rotatably drivable therein. A first annular chamber is defined between the first stationary component and the second component and has a first and a second axial end. The first axial end is delimited at least partially by the first stationary component and the second axial end is delimited at least partially by the second component. An inlet line and an outlet line are connected to the first annular chamber. The outlet line guides the pressure medium to a consuming device. Radially extending sealing slots are defined between the first stationary component and the second component at the first and the second axial ends whereby the sealing slots have adjustable slot widths. The first and the second sealing slots are simultaneously adjustable into a same direction with respect to the slot width by an axial relative adjusting movement of the first stationary component and the second component.

The clamping jaws are coupled with an adjustment member which, for producing an adjustment movement is in driving connection with an adjusting drive mechanism. The latter is formed by a two-part rotary motor that is disposed externally of the main spindle and is concentric thereto. The rotary motor is rotatably mounted as a self-contained unit. One functional member of the rotary motor is driveable directly by the main spindle and is drivingly supported thereon. The other functional member is drivingly connected with the adjustment member. To maintain the clamping force, the two functional members can be positively secured to one another. To undertake an adjustment movement, the two functional members can be infinitely variably moved relative to one another.
