    • A bridge laying apparatus of the type having a vehicle and at least two bridge sections which are transportable thereon in a superimposed position and are joinable into a bridge for spanning an obstacle by devices carried by the vehicle. The bridge includes plural tracks connected to one another via crossbeams and the device is arranged and guided between the bridge tracks and includes a launching girder that is partially embedded within a laying beam and supported by roller pairs arranged on both sides of the launching girder, a respective one of the rollers of these roller pairs serving for guiding and supporting the bridge on the laying beam and the other roller of the roller pairs serving for guiding and supporting the launching girder in the bridge. A guide arm is articulated to the vehicle and the laying beam is held thereon by rollers which enable longitudinal displacement of the laying beam on the guide arm. The guide arm is shiftable about a horizontal axis by way of a hydraulic cylinder unit. The bridge can be laid in place with or without the use of the launching girder, depending upon the length of the obstacle spanned thereby.

    • A transportable bridge unit has bridge spans located side-by-side and held apart with a space between the spans by crosspieces which include spars connected heightwise to the bridge spans and to a central transverse web in a manner that enables the spans to change their positions relative to each other. According to a preferred embodiment, holders are provided for interconnection of the transverse web with the spars connected to the bridge spans into which connecting pins are insertable. By removal of both pins, the bridge spans can be disconnected from the transverse web and carried adjacent one another on a transporting vehicle, while removal of only the upper one of the connecting pins from its receiving holder enables the spans to pivot about the lower connecting pin so that the spans can be folded downwardly relative to the transverse web against one another so as to be transportable in a connected condition that is reduced in its transverse extent relative to its operational width.

    • A guide apparatus for guiding and arresting an elevator running on column-like guides automatically prevents a transmission of guide alignment errors to the car and an unintended engagement of the arresting device. A roller carrier for engaging the guide running surfaces is rotationally movably mounted on the car with a center of rotation at the longitudinal axis of the guide so that the roller carrier can follow a twist of the guide about its axis. The roller carrier also mounts an arresting device which is vertically displaceable in a mounting bracket by contact with a buffer on an abutment attached to the elevator car. In the case of an arresting braking of the car, no force is transmitted to the guide apparatus.
