摘要： A prosthetic ankle joint consists of a base which includes an upper base portion and a lower base portion. The lower base portion is formed with a substantially hollow receiving cavity extending inwardly from an end thereof remote from the upper base portion. A base member is movably positioned within the receiving cavity and is connected to a prosthetic foot. The base member is movable in side-to-side direction independently of the base, so as to enable the prosthetic foot to closely follow a walking surface. The motion of the base member is controlled by resilient biasing members positioned between the inner cavity and the base member.

摘要： A prosthetic knee device having a hydraulic cylinder with a piston and a gas cylinder. A connecting element extends outwardly from the piston and passing through a gas cylinder. A bottom portion of the gas cylinder is adapted for slidable engagement with the hydraulic cylinder. A plunger is fixedly connected to the hydraulic cylinder. An outer periphery of a plunger is adapted for slidable engagement with the interior surface of the gas cylinder, so as to form an operational chamber within the gas cylinder between the bottom portion thereof and the plunger. 摘要： A knee unit for an above-knee prosthetic leg includes a piston arrangement, a valve arrangement and a bladder arrangement for achieving swing and stance control of the prosthetic leg. For swing control the piston arrangement displaces a fluid through the valve arrangement to compress the bladder arrangement for storing the energy required to drive an extension cycle of the prosthetic leg and to provide bias and flexion resistance for the knee unit. For stance control the valve arrangement is such that when weight is applied to the heel of a prosthetic foot at various stages of the gait cycle of the prosthetic leg, the knee unit is permitted to flex or is prevented from flexing via compression of the bladder to provide stability during the various phases of the gait cycle.

摘要： A limb holding device designed to be attached to an operating table to immobilize a patient's arm or leg during arthroscopic surgery or the like. It provides for distraction of the hip joint or other joint being worked on, and also provides for reduction and maintenance of position of fractures of the arm or leg. The device includes a pair of vertical upright supports braced by an adjustable connecting bar, and a fork-like member has a canvas or plastic cradle stretched between its two tines, a plurality of straps to immobilize the patient's limb on the cradle, a padded shoe-like or plate-like device to hold the foot firmly, and a handle means to facilitate manipulation of the limb and to place the proper traction forces thereon. A tensiometer is integrated into the fork-like member to allow direct and accurate indication of the traction force being-placed on the limb. Once the desired position of the limb and joint is achieved, the various adjustable clamps and stop nuts may be secured to lock the device in that position during surgery.
