    • Disclosed are a method and system for controlling access to semantic web statements. The method comprises the steps of providing a set of semantic web statements in a defined format, and storing said statements in one or more first tables; and constructing a set of access control lists in said defined format, and storing said lists in one or more second tables. Each of the access control lists of the second tables is connected to one or more of the statements of the first tables, and said access control lists are used to enforce access rules to said semantic statements. Preferably, this access is enforced by filtering out web statements that users do not have permission to read, and by returning errors when users attempt to make changes to the semantic statements that the users do not have permission to change.

    • A method, apparatus, and program product for modifying Resource Description Framework (RDF) statements in a client-server system which include storing RDF statements in a server, assembling a service request at a client connected to the server for requesting modifications to an RDF statement stored in the server, sending the service request from the client to the server, modifying the RDF statement at the server responsive to the service request, and sending a service response from the server to the client indicating if the modification of the RDF statement was successful. The service request may be an Add RDF request, an Update RDF request or a Remove RDF request. The service request and the service response are stored in memory in the client for tracking purposes.

    • Disclosed are a method and system for storing semantic web statements in a relational database. The method comprises the steps of providing a repository for said semantic web statements, and providing a relational database including one or more specific tables. Each of these specific tables includes (i) one column holding a Uniform Resource identifier (URI) key, and (ii) one or more additional columns holding components of said semantic web statements. A specific table component registry is established to connect the specific tables to said repository, and this registry includes an entry for each of said specific tables for converting data in said tables to one of said semantic statements.

    • Disclosed are a method of and system for tracking and storing semantic web revision history. The method comprises the steps of providing a first semantic web statement, adding a unique identifier, such as a reification, of said statement, adding a revision statement including a revision number, and updating said first statement to form an updated semantic statement. When the first semantic statement is updated, a new semantic statement is created that captures said first semantic statement prior to being updated, said revision number is incremented, and said new statement is connected with said updated statement. In this way, a user has access to that first statement via the updated statement. Preferably, said first statement includes a set of properties, and each of these properties is an object of the reification of that first statement.

    • Disclosed are a method of and system for selective tracking of semantic web data. The method comprises the steps of providing a set of semantic web statements, identifying one or more subsets of said set of semantic web statements, and storing said one or more subsets on a given computer system. One or more trackers are established, with each of said trackers being associated with a respective one of said subsets; and when updates to semantic web statements in said set are issued, said one or more trackers are used to identify which ones of said updates are updates to semantic web statements in said one or more subsets. Preferably, each of the trackers is able to determine from a single statement update event if that statement is in the subset associated with said each tracker.
