    • A fluid purification system includes an elongated ultraviolet radiation emitting tube and independent fluid flow-controlling conduits. Each conduit is transparent to allow ultraviolet light emitted by the tube to enter the conduit, and defines a continuous path, and is helically wound closely about the tube to insure that fluid flow through the conduits is exposed to the ultraviolet light. One embodiment of the system includes a filter typically a carbon filter, having inlet and outlet ports. An end of each conduit is connected to one of the inlet and outlet ports of the filter. The system thus exposes the fluid to ultraviolet radiation both before and after the fluid is filtered. Other embodiments include reverse osmosis units and deionization units wherein each entry, exit or discharge port is isolated from contamination by having a coiled connecting tube for the fluid exposed to ultraviolet radiation.

    • A method for calibration of RF paths of a frequency hopping adaptive base transceiver station is provided. The method of calibration calibrates a wireless cellular telecommunication system with a frequency hopping adaptive base transceiver station including an adaptive antenna array with two or more RF traffic transceiver apparatus chains. The wireless cellular telecommunication system communicates with mobile units on a frequencies defined by a hop list. The method of calibration includes the step of periodically interrupting a frequency hopping process of the frequency hopping adaptive base transceiver station while calls are in progress. The method of calibration further includes the step of calibrating an antenna transmit path for a RF traffic transceiver apparatus chain at a frequency selected to include one or more frequencies in the hop list to determine a set of weighting parameters for the antenna transmit path at the one or more frequencies. A self-calibrating frequency hopping adaptive base transceiver station is also provided.

    • The invention discloses a method and apparatus for supporting increased capacity on a backhaul communications link carrier frequency of a wireless communication system the uses a repeater station. Uplink RF carrier signals from a plurality of mobile units each having a first modulation scheme, are received at a serving repeater station. These uplink signals containing traffic and control information are demodulated and then re-modulated by a second modulation scheme having a higher-order modulation than the first modulation scheme. The re-modulated signal containing a plurality of uplink carrier signals within a single RF carrier signal is then transmitted over an uplink channel of a backhaul communication link. Additionally, the invention discloses a method for aggregating data on the uplink channel of a backhaul communications link. A plurality of uplink RF carrier signals from a plurality of mobile units are each received at a repeater station. Each of the uplink carrier signals containing traffic and control information are then compressed into a single RF carrier signal which is transmitted over an uplink channel of a backhaul communication link.
