    • An optical illusion-producing rotating toy includes a rectangular support housing and a generally cylindrical rotatable housing mounted on the support housing for free rotation about a vertical axis. The rotatable housing has at least two three-dimensional display areas, chambers of compartments angularly disposed about the axis. An axis extension of the rotatable housing projects beyond the support housing for gripping to impart rotation of the rotatable housing. The rotatable housing is provided with a resilient pair of engageable fingers proximate the support housing, and a pair of selection latching members are provided on the support housing each of which has a portion which may be selectively moved for engaging one of the fingers to almost instantaneously stop the rotation of the rotatable housing in a predetermined position. This brings into view one of the display areas at a fixed point of observation. Observation of any one display area is made difficult until the rotatable housing is stopped and, depending on which latching member is actuated, an object in one display area may be made to disappear and reappear by successively bringing that display area and an empty display area into view. A case may be used to house the toy, with foldable panels which unfold to form a play area or environment of which the rotating toy forms a part. The housing rotation may be done by electrical motor means, and the stopping by electromagnetic means.

    • A bubble blowing figure toy having a hollow torso configured with a head portion defining a mouth opening and a squeezable body portion. An operative device is arranged substantially within the torso of the figure toy for generating bubbles from a bubble forming liquid applied to the mouth opening. In response to squeezing of the figure toy, a stream of air is directed toward the mouth opening to facilitate bubble formation into either a large bubble or a series of generally uniform smaller bubbles. The operative device includes a mouthpiece, an air bladder, and an air duct. The mouthpiece is arranged at the mouth opening of the toy and to one end of which the bubble forming liquid is applied. The air bladder generates an air stream, and the air duct connects the air bladder with the mouthpiece. The air duct is configured to inhibit ingestion of bubble forming liquid into the air bladder. A valve in the air duct further facilitates bubble formation.

    • A glove puppet assembly simulating a creature with movable claws has a body member and forwardly extending claw members with lever arm portions which extend into the cavity of the body member. A bell crank assembly in the cavity is pivotally connected to the inner ends of the lever arm portions, and an actuator connected to the bell crank assembly extends outwardly of the body member so that it may be manually actuated to pivot the bell crank assembly and cause the forward ends of the claw members to move relative to each other. A glove is secured to the lower outer surface of the body member and has a finger thereof extending through a ring portion on the actuator so that the user's finger may be pivoted downwardly to provide the desired manual action. The creature also includes a tail member pivoted to the body member, and it is pivotable by relative motion between the forearm and hand of the user in the glove.

    • A maze has two opposing substantially coextensive walls one of which forms an inner three-dimensional form or shell and the other which forms an outer form or shell. Each of the shells is generally in the form of a cube and the inner shell is fixedly positioned within the outer shell so as to maintain a predetermined, uniform distance between the inner and outer walls. The outer wall is formed with a network of channels which, together with the inner wall, define a corresponding network of passageways. The passageways on each side of the outer cube are connected to the passageways on the adjacent sides of the cube so as to form interconnected passageways which permit one or more marbles, for example, to move through the passageways on one or more sides of the cube with changes in orientation of the maze in space. Apertures are provided in at least one passageway on each side of the cube for providing points of entry and exit for the marbles into and out of the maze. By selective changes in orientation of the maze in space marbles within the maze can be made to move through the passageways without escaping through the apertures.
