    • A lightweight telescopic lens of monolithic construction is revealed that corporates additional refractive and reflective curved surfaces to produce all the optical functions performed by an ordinary telescope. A pair of such lenses may be mounted in an eyeglass frame to yield a telescope that can be worn like a pair of eyeglasses, thus affording superior image stability as well as free the user's hands. Minor modifications involving the use of several menisci of a different index of refraction from that of the core lens can be made to achieve achromatism of emergent light from achromatic input light. The entire core lens can also be shaped into a meniscus to take advantage of the principle of total internal reflection, thereby increasing the light-gathering aperture while at the same time rendering the lens even more compact and lightweight.

    • A fuel dispensing nozzle includes a housing having a hollow main body portion and a handle portion with a hand-grip spaced from the main body portion, an elongate nozzle body mounted in the main body portion of the housing and having a fuel passageway extending longitudinally therethrough in a generally straight line devoid of any abrupt changes in direction, a main valve for controlling the flow of fuel through the nozzle, a manually operable valve actuator, a spout having three integrally formed passageways comprising a fuel passageway, a vapor recovery passageway and a shut-off, venturi-vacuum passageway, a vapor recovery passageway through the main body and handle portions of the housing, a venturi-vacuum device for shutting off the flow of fuel through the nozzle when the vehicle fuel tank is full, an attitude responsive device for deactivating the main valve when the nozzle is not in the proper attitude for insertion of the spout into the fill opening of the vehicle fuel tank and an attitude responsive valve in the vapor recovery passageway for closing the vapor recovery passageway when the nozzle is not in position for insertion of the spout into the fill opening of the vehicle fuel tank.

    • A cutter head assembly for dismantling pallets includes a cross member pivotally supported on a machine. The cross member supports one or more cutter heads thereon in forwardly projecting operational position which is freely slidable in a lateral direction. The cutter heads have an offbearing tray for portions of the pallets. The assembly of cutter heads is tiltable rearwardly on the pivot support to an upper maintenance position. Lock pins hold the cutter head assembly positively between the down operational position and the up maintenance position. The center of gravity of the cutter head assembly is at the pivot support to provide a balanced structure, and a spring loaded member is provided to urge the assembly rotatably down to its operational position. The spring loaded member also maintains the cutter head assembly in its maintenance position. A positive lock is provided between the cutter head assembly and the machine frame in both of these positions.

    • The present invention includes an adjustable head set held in place on the back of a patient's head when the patient leans back against a chair head rest. The head set includes self-preparing disposable monitors that provide good contact with the patient's head without prior skin preparation. The monitors include a conductive tube containing conductive wires, the tips of which form a planar cushion surface for contacting the patient's head through a caratinaceous layer of skin. The monitors are held in adjustable holders that allow the contact force to be adjusted. The adjustable holders are mounted in holder slots of head set springs where the slots also allow adjustment of the placement of the monitors. The springs can include hinges for rotatably adjusting placement of the monitors. The disposable monitors are filled with an electrolyte solution using a disposable applicator including a puncturable film, punctured by a monitor when the electrolyte solution is being applied.
