摘要： An apparatus and method for aiming a vehicle headlight to a standard image pattern includes a frame movable relative to the vehicle. A housing carried on a vertically adjustable housing includes a lens focusing a headlight beam onto a reflective screen which reflects the beam image to a camera. A control compares the digitized image output from the camera with a standard image pattern and generates a correlation factor based on the difference between the reflected image and a standard image. Based on the difference, the control generates output signals to an adjustment device engagable with the headlight mounting frame to adjust the position of the mounting frame to reduce the difference to zero.

A charge mixture is prepared comprising diphenylacetonitrile, 1-(dimethylamino)-2-halopropane, a base, water, a water-immiscible organic solvent, and a quaternary salt selected from a group consisting of tetrabutylammonium halides, tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulfate, cetyltrimethylammonium halides, benzyltriphenylphosphonium halides, and methyltrialkyl (C.sub.8 -C.sub.10) ammonium halides. The mixture is heated under an inert atmosphere to effect formation of 2,2-diphenyl-4-(dimethylamino)-pentane nitrile by reaction of diphenylacetonitrile, 1-(dimethylamino)-2-halopropane and a base.

摘要： The disclosure concerns a technique for forming screen packs which may be used in filtering foreign matter from an extruded plastic material. Such technique involves initially forming a sandwich array which includes a number of sheets of screening, each sheet of screening having a desired orientation with respect to each other sheet of screening. The sandwich array also includes at least one sheet of thermoplastic material. The sandwich array is heated, in order to cause the thermoplastic material to flow into the openings in the sheets of screening, such that the sandwich array will constitute a unitary structure upon the cooling of the thermoplastic material. Thereafter, at least one screen pack, and preferably several screen packs are formed from such unitary structure, e.g., through the performance of a suitable punching operation on the unitary structure.

摘要： A process is disclosed for reclaiming a jelly-filled telecommunication cable. The process comprises the steps of cutting the cable into segments of jelly bearing insulated wires and forming the segments into a slurry heated to a temperature sufficient to soften the jelly. The slurry is milled thereby liberating insulation from the wires with a substantial portion of the softened jelly adhering to the liberated insulation. The jelly-bearing liberated insulation is then separated from the wires.
