    • A network interface device includes a base and a protective outer cover that is attached to the base for movement between an opened position and a closed position. The base has a channel formed therein, and the outer cover has a corresponding lip that depends outwardly from the outer cover and is received within the channel. The channel and the lip form a watertight seal across the top and along the sides of the network interface device when the outer cover is closed on the base. With the outer cover in the closed position, a small opening is defined between the lip and the outer edge of the outer cover so that any moisture that accumulates against the outside of the lip drains along the opening towards the bottom of the network interface device. Accordingly, terminating equipment and wiring connection housed within the network interface device are protected without the use of an elastic seal or gasket.

    • An anti-mine unit or assembly is adapted for being mounted to a prime mover or transport vehicle to reduce the dangers when clearing minefields. The anti-mine unit includes a frame, a plurality of digging cables, a plurality of drag cables, at least one side curtain of curtain cables, a rear curtain of curtain cables, and a top plate. The anti-mine unit may include a wire cutting device and a plurality of deflector cables. Heavy tubes of thick sidewalls are welded together to form the frame from which heavy cables are supported. The digging cables, drag cables, curtain cables and deflector cables are secured to the frame such that the cables, frame, and thick top plate form a unit that digs up, exposes and/or explodes mines, keeps the explosions and shrapnel controlled, and clears a pathway for the vehicle's drive wheels or tracks.

    • The mine and explosive clearing machine and implement includes a long reach excavator modified with a float-type hydraulic valve for vertical control of the arm. The mine and explosive clearing implement is installed on the distal end of the arm in place of a conventional tool. The implement includes a frame having multiple tilling blades separated by shoes defining blade penetration depth. Multiple cables are pivotally attached to the rear of the frame, each cable having another tilling blade at its distal end and a brush blade opposite the tilling blade. The cables may be inverted to orient either blade downward. The prime mover of the excavator is positioned and the arm extended rearward. The implement is then lowered and dragged forward toward the prime mover so that the blades engage the surface to dislodge and/or detonate explosives at a safe distance from the prime mover.

    • A log lifting device is described that includes an upstanding post with an attached flexible strand. The flexible strand, such as a chain, releasably connects the post to a jack. Guide members on the post cause the flexible strand to extend generally parallel to the post for a substantial portion of the length of the post. The flexible strand may include a thin, rigid extension at one end to enable the strand to be threaded under a log to be lifted. The end passed under the log to be lifted is then attached to a jack. The log is raised upwardly generally parallel the length of the support member in response to an upward force applied by the jack.
