    • A receptacle type ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) device adapted for connecting to input lines, which includes a pair of input terminals for connecting to the input lines, a pair of receptacle outlets, a ground-fault current detector for detecting a ground fault condition on the input lines, a reset and trip device, and a self detecting and testing structure. The device further includes a normal working condition indicator and an end-of-life indicator. When the GFCI device is correctly wired and working properly, the device can be properly reset by a reset button. When the ground-fault is detected, the GFCI is put in a normal tripped state with no power output. When the input terminals and the output terminals are reversely wired, no power is output. If an input line is broken, no power is output.

    • An electrolytic cell, such as a rechargeable lithium battery, having cavitands associated with a metal ion source-electrode and an electrolyte. The cavitands, which are anchored to the electrode by a polymer leash, are capable of releasably attracting particular ions, such as lithium ions, which are migrating from the electrolyte, toward the surface of the electrode during electrodeposition. The polymer leash serves to continuously maintain the cavitands at a predetermined distance away from the surface of the electrode, regardless of surface area fluctuations, typically caused during deposition and dissolution of the particular ions. Accordingly, the cavitands facilitate substantially uniform electrodeposition of the particular ions, which, in turn, substantially suppresses and/or controls the formation and growth of a passive film or layer, on the electrode surface, which may otherwise promote the formation of dendrites.

    • A receptacle type GFCI includes an input circuit, a leakage current detecting and amplifying circuit, a neutral ground fault detecting and amplifying circuit, a signal control circuit including an IC and a reset and trip actuating circuit, an output circuit, and a ground fault self detecting circuit connected between the input circuit and the reset and trip actuating circuit. The ground fault self detecting circuit includes an end-of-life indicator.
