    • The invention relates to a method, to a device and to uses thereof for the sensitive detection of audio events in order to obtain sensations and feelings of the living skin. The audio event is broken down in to several spectral ranges, and from the signals which represent said range, control voltages are determined for a defined selection of predetermined transmitters which act upon and/or in the living skin. The selection and allocation of the control voltages is dependant on a signal analysis which uses signals which represent the spectral range. The invention relates both to the rendering of deaf people sensitive to music and to the transmission of signals to deaf people.

    • Use of fatty acid esters as bioadhesive substances. The fatty acid esters have molecular weights below about 1000 dalton and the fatty acid component of the fatty acid ester is a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid having a total number of carbon atoms of from C.sub.8 to C.sub.22. Particularly suitable fatty acid esters for use according to the invention are fatty acid esters which are selected from the group consisting of fatty acid esters of polyhydric alcohols, fatty acid esters of hydroxycarboxylic acids, fatty acid esters of monosaccharides, fatty acid esters of glycerylphosphate derivatives, fatty acid esters of glycerylsulfate derivative, and mixtures thereof. Excellent bioadhesive properties have been observed for fatty acid esters are glyceryl monooleate, glyceryl monolinoleate or glyceryl monolinolenate.Methods are described for administering an active or protective substance to undamaged or damaged skin or mucosa of an animal such as a human by combining the active or protective substance with a bioadhesive fatty acid ester. The mucosa may be the oral, aural, nasal, lung, gastrointestinal, vaginal, or rectal mucosa. The administration may also be to body cavities such as the oral cavity, e.g. via buccal administration.

    • An FM receiver includes an IF unit followed by an LF unit, the IF unit having an IF filter arrangement. The center frequency of the IF filter arrangement, which is relatively narrowbanded with respect to the channel bandwidth, is controlled as a function of the receiving conditions. The receiver has circuitry for changing the signal transmission characteristic of the IF and/or LF unit, including a detector module with detector circuits for detecting values characteristic of receiving or interference states, with the inputs of these circuits each being connected with a circuit point of the IF or LF unit carrying the signal to be processed and with the outputs of these circuits providing signals characterizing receiving or interference states. The circuitry for changing the signal transmission characteristic also includes an evaluation circuit for processing the signals characteristic of receiving or interference states, the evaluation circuit having an input portion with at least one amplitude and/or time threshold circuit connected with the detector module and having a logic unit which is connected to the input portion and which provides processed signals characteristic of receiving and interference states as control signals for influencing individual stages of the IF or LF unit.
