摘要： A method of controlling a deceleration rate of a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) includes measuring an applied regenerative braking torque (RBT) during a threshold regenerative braking event (RBE), and automatically applying an offsetting friction braking torque (OFBT) from a hydraulic braking system during the threshold RBE to provide the vehicle with a substantially constant deceleration rate. An HEV having a regenerative braking capability includes a friction braking system adapted to selectively apply an OFBT to slow the HEV in one manner, an energy storage system (ESS), an electric motor/generator, and a controller having a braking control algorithm or method. The method anticipates an impending let up in the RBT based on a plurality of vehicle performance values including a threshold vehicle speed, and selectively activates the friction braking system to apply the OFBT when the impending let up in the RBT is greater than a threshold.

An outlet sensor senses a second oxygen level of exhaust gases exiting the catalytic converter. A controller communicates with a fuel system of an engine, the inlet sensor, and the outlet sensor. The controller initiates a rich condition after a fuel cut-off period and calculates a mass of oxygen released by the catalytic converter based on a mass air flow into the engine. The controller calculates a target oxygen storage capacity (OSC) of the catalytic converter over a target time period.

摘要： A method for continuously predicting the type of traffic in which a vehicle is traveling. The traffic pattern can be used in other vehicle control systems as an input to determine how to adjust system parameters, such as control loop proportional and integral gain calibrations. Vehicle speed is sampled over a variable number of sampling intervals, defining a prediction period. The prediction period varies as a function of distance traveled, and is limited for conditions where the distance interval is not reached within a particular time interval. When the prediction period is reached, average vehicle speed and speed variation over the period are determined. A lookup table incorporating average speed and speed variation is used to determine the traffic pattern. The prediction period can be shortened to quickly recognize transitions from city or highway traffic pattern.
