    • An antenna assembly for a portable terminal. The antenna assembly includes an antenna housing releasably received in the portable terminal; a cam member having at least one stopping groove formed on a surface of the cam member, and connected to the antenna housing to move linearly and reciprocally in the portable terminal; a stopper coupled to the cam member in the portable terminal to interlock with the cam member; and an elastic member providing elastic force in a direction where the antenna housing is withdrawn from the portable terminal, wherein the stopper is engaged with the stopping groove to restrain the antenna housing in an interior of the portable terminal when the antenna housing is received and locked in the portable terminal. Since the antenna assembly can be carried while being received and locked in the portable terminal, it is possible to improve design and portability of the portable terminal, and to ensure better communication quality.

    • A device is provided that is substantially enclosed inside the chassis of a docking station to connect a portable computer to a docking station. A beam is rotatably mounted at one end on a boss located on the inner surface of the top side of the chassis. A second end of the beam projects through a groove in the side of the chassis to allow a user to easily manipulate the beam. A spring biases the second end of the beam towards the rear of the chassis. A shaft is attached to the beam and extends downward from the beam to engage a plate. The plate has at least two slots that are substantially perpendicular to the front of the chassis. Fasteners are inserted through the slots and secured to bosses to allow the plate to slide forward and backward. Two prongs extend from the plate to eccentrically engage two latching members that are pivotally mounted on the inside of the chassis of the docking station. The latching members have torsion springs biasing them into an orientation that secures the portable computer to the chassis of the docking station. Thus, when a user slides the beam towards the front of the chassis, the plate moves forward and rotates the latching members using the two prongs to release the portable computer from the docking station.

    • Disclosed is an apparatus for mounting a keyboard to a portable computer, made up of an elastic member for lifting upwardly the keyboard from the bottom of the base; an indented part formed on at least one of the sides of the base plate; a setting member forming symmetrically on the opposite surface to the indented part, which will engage a locking hole formed on the side of the pocket; and a locking member, which is mounted inside the base, for coming out of the base to the pocket to engage the indented part through elasticity or release out of it to remove the keyboard from the base. Therefore, the keyboard mounting apparatus permits a user to easily attach a keyboard to and detach it from a pocket using a simple tool, such as a pen and resulting in preventing damage to a keyboard or base due to use of any metal tools.

    • A portable notebook computer assembly having a notebook computer which attaches to an extension module. Both the notebook computer and the extension module are compact, lightweight, and portable. The extension module contains peripheral features that enable the notebook computer to gain access to the peripheral features. A more secure mechanical juncture is formed between the notebook computer and the extension module to allow for a better electrical connection. Three, instead of four contact points are formed between the notebook computer and the extension module. Two of the three junctures are the two buckles while the third is a guide holder, consisting of a continuum of points along one edge of the device opposite from the buckles. With this improved design, the notebook computer can attach better mechanically and electrically to the extension module.

    • A cradle device of a portable terminal such as a PDA (personal digital assistance). The cradle device of the portable terminal has a cradle body on which the portable terminal is placed; and a holder to embrace the portable terminal settled on the cradle body. The holder is rotatable with respect to the cradle body within a predetermined angular range. A bracket hinge is settled at the cradle body, and a bracket shaft is settled at the holder. A friction member is disposed between the bracket hinge and the bracket shaft with a predetermined friction force. Accordingly, an angle of the holder can be freely adjusted when the portable terminal is embraced by the holder.
