摘要： A 4-state bar code printing and reading system for use in physical distribution-related services such as mail pieces, receptacles, reception and management forms or the like, and a method for controlling the system are disclosed. The 4-state bar code printing system comprises a bar code information acquiring section for acquiring, storing and determining a mail piece sorting information; an information recorded density enhancing section for evaluating a value of a character, by using of a compression method depending upon a type of the information and digit, which are determined by the bar code information acquiring section; an input information encoding section for arranging the values of the bars produced by the information recorded density enhancing section in order of values of bars of the 4-state bar code, and dividing the values into groups each consisting of 3 bars; an error correcting codeword producing section for producing an error correcting codeword based on the result of the information encoding section the input value of an error correcting level; and a print frame producing section for arranging the error correcting codeword produced from the error correcting codeword producing section and the data produced from the information recorded density improving section in order of a start bar, a data, an error correcting codeword, and a stop bar, to print a 4-state bar code print font on a mail piece.

摘要： In a system for identifying an object having a bar code symbology, a measurement and input unit measure a height and a length of the object and input the measured values into the system. An object image and search region image storage unit stores an image of the object and images of at least two sub blocks from the object. A search region setting unit sets a size of the sub blocks. A region of interest (ROI) generation unit sets a weight and a characteristic value of the sub block. A bar code symbology identification unit searches vertically a bar code region from the ROI and generates a bar code edge region. An information interpretation unit interprets object information corresponding to the bar code edge region. A result process and storage unit processes and stores the interpreted object information.

摘要： This invention is related to a system and a method for reading high precision printed barcodes and their specification verification. The presented invention has a technique of reading both logistic sorting barcode (one or two dimension) and multi-layered structure barcode such as four-state barcode for automatic postal matter sorting. The invention also investigates height of high densely reduced barcodes in more than 3 steps, and precisely measures and reads the values of black bars thickness and white spaces. Previous techniques used laser beam for reading barcodes, but could not read barcodes, which have print density of less than 1/100 mm˜1/1,000 mm unit, and, it was also impossible to read precise specification values in case that barcode specification was composed of length unit indexes. The presented invention overcomes the previous said problems by using a laser diode array.
