    • A strap closure for straps of wrist watches comprises a magnetic closure and an automatic mechanical lock. The closure comprises two closure parts (1, 2) and at least one permanent magnet (16) and a yoke (9), which form parts of a magnetic circuit. Said magnetic circuit is disposed inside a shield (6) made of a ferromagnetic material and closed as far as possible on all sides. Between the magnetic circuit (9, 15, 16) and said shield or other closure parts there is no metallic contact whatsoever with elements of high permeability, the magnetic circuit is instead isolated from the shield or from other closure parts by air gaps (22, 23) and fastening elements (14) of a low permeability close to the value of air.

    • The cutting device proposed has cutting cells (3), located side by side, which collect the items to be cut. Each cell (3) contains a stationary element, which is designed to act as a support for the items to be cut and has a stop edge for the items, and a mobile element (4) which is designed to press the items together in the cell (3). During the cutting process, the mobile element is driven so that it remains substantially parallel to the support edge, and its motion during cutting is tangential to the items being cut. This tangential cutting action enables very considerable reductions to be made in energy consumption and noise generation. The cutting device is suitable for use in grass mowers, agricultural reaping and mowing machines and hedge clippers.

    • A method for regulating the operation of yarn clearers having error correcting means such as yarn cutters, and sensing means providing an electrical signal representative of the controlled quality. The method comprises the steps of: feeding the signal from the sensing means to two independent electrical circuit channels each having separate threshold switch means, the threshold switch means of one circuit responsive to signals corresponding to yarn faults of given magnitude. The threshold switch means of the other circuit responds to signals corresponding to faults of given duration. Thereafter, an independent control signal is obtained from each of said channels for initiating the operation of the cutters when a limiting value selected for each of said two channels is exceeded.
