    • A system and method of providing advertisements based on autocomplete functionality are disclosed. In some embodiments, user-entered text is received in a search field of a search engine. A predicted query is determined based on the user-entered text. The predicted query comprises predicted text and at least a portion of the user-entered text, the predicted text being absent from the user-entered text. An advertisement for an item is determined based on the predicted query. The advertisement is caused to be displayed to the user concurrently with the predicted query being displayed in an autocomplete user interface element of the search field. In some embodiments, the advertisement for the item comprises an identification of the item and a price of the item.

    • Systems and methods of providing composite search results are disclosed. A search query may be received by a general purpose search engine of a first website from a user. At least one general purpose search result may be determined based on the search query using the general purpose search engine. The at least one general purpose search result may be based on a search of multiple websites. Item listing information of an item listed for sale on a second website may be determined based on the search query. The at least one general purpose search result and the item listing information may be caused to be displayed concurrently on the first website to the user. The user may be enabled to interact with the second website regarding the item by interacting with the item listing information displayed on the first website.

    • Toolbar search data is utilized to facilitate search engine crawlers to locate resources on a network such as, for example, multimedia resources on the Internet. In one instance, for example, users who opt into a user feedback experience have their toolbar searches relayed to a toolbar data mining component which augments a multimedia crawler in locating the multimedia resources. A media inspection component is then employed to determine the content of the media resource and, when appropriate, the media resource is then indexed for utilization in search engine indexing nodes and the like. This allows resources, for example, such as multimedia resources, that are typically undiscoverable by search engine crawlers to be located and indexed for searching.

    • A method and a system filter search results according to attributes of current results. A plurality of content elements is tagged so each content element is associated with a plurality of tags. Each tag describes an attribute of at least one of the plurality of content elements. A first listing of results is provided to a user. Each of the results in the first listing includes a content element and the plurality of tags associated with the content element. A first selection of a first tag in a first result of the first listing received from a user. A second selection of a second tag is received from the user. The second tag may be in the first result or in a second result of the first listing of results. A second listing of results is provided to the user where each of the results of the second listing includes at least the first tag and the second tag.
