The electric device (100) has a first function (103), a second function (104) and a user interface (105) with a first part (106) and a second part (107). In response to activating either of the parts (106), (107), one of the functions (103), (104) is performed by the electric device (100). To achieve a more consistent user interface (105), the mapping from part activated to function performed is adapted in dependence upon an orientation in use. The orientation in use is detected with a detector (108) comprising a gravity sensor (109). The gravity sensor (109) can contribute to distinguishing left from right and inside in from inside out.

A controller receives an output from the sensing grid, and a module identifies at least two points on the grid indicating locations of the display screen that have been touched by a user and identifies a geographic portion of the display screen to be identified based on said at least two points. As the position of the fingers are relative to the position of the screen via change in a direction of a Z-coordinate, a variable zoom can be provided by the sensing grid commensurate with different distances that the multiple fingers are sensed from the display screen.

摘要： An object for transmitting information to a user includes an information detection device for detecting and receiving an information signal, a touch detector for transmitting a touch detection signal upon detection of the user touching the object, and an electronic switch for electronically coupling the information detection device to a tactile stimulation unit upon receipt of the touch detection signal such that information signal is transmitted from the information detection device to a part of the user touching the object via the tactile stimulation unit. In this way, the object is suitable for transmitting information only to the user touching the object, and this information is hidden from and not transmitted to other users.
