    • An artery stabilizer device is provided for stabilizing an artery while a technician inserts a needle into the stabilized artery. Two stabilizer fingers are provided to hold an artery in place while a needle is passed between two extensions and further inserted into the artery beyond the stabilizer fingers; the device can be removed from the worksite while the tip of the needle remains lodged within the artery. A platform is disposed above the stabilizer fingers and extensions create ample distance between the stabilizer fingers and the platform for simplified palpation and improved visibility and safety. Each embodiment can create an augmented pulse at a targeted needle insertion site, making it easier for a technician to palpate the patient's pulse there. Arterial catheter insertions can be facilitated using this invention.

    • A catheter syringe conveyor with a syringe holder adapted for use with a variety of separate catheter syringes is provided for installing an indwelling catheter into a blood vessel. The syringe holder is slidably set within a track which is disposed along a length of a shaft, allowing the technician to maneuver an attached syringe up and down the shaft. A stabilizer, having a pair of stabilizer fingers, is attached to the bottom end of the shaft. The stabilizer fingers hold the device in steadily place while a syringe is maneuvered up and down the shaft during use. The stabilizer fingers can also be adapted to stabilize a targeted blood vessel. After the targeted blood vessel is penetrated by the needle of the syringe, the technician locks the syringe in place with a syringe lock, and then maneuvers the catheter down over the needle and into the blood vessel. After the catheter is properly inserted into the blood vessel, the technician is able to slide the syringe back up the shaft. The syringe is locked by the syringe lock so that the needle is immobilized within the protective walls of a needle shield for safety.
