摘要： Improved electron beam sterilization apparatus and shielding techniques for use in are provided. A controller modulates an electron beam when sterilizing an interior to an object to ensure that adequate dose is received. Sterilization carousels are configured with input/discharge feeds to reduce the possibility of humans being exposed to dangerous levels of radiation. The system reduces the amount of shielding required to thereby lower cost of installation.

摘要： Molecular sieves are prepared by forming a reaction mixture slurry, spray drying the reaction mixture slurry to form particles, and heating the spray dried reaction mixture at a temperature and pressure sufficient to cause crystallization of the molecular sieve. The reaction mixture contains an organic templating agent capable of forming the molecular sieve. The template may be added to the reaction mixture either by adding all of the template prior to spray drying, or by adding a portion of the template prior to spray drying with the remainder being added after spray drying.

摘要： This invention relates to a ferrule dispenser for dispensing stud welding ferrules and to a package of ferrules for use with the dispenser. The dispenser comprises a rod that supports a spring loaded cam system. The cam system moves relative to the rod and includes a compression spring and a cam. The spring and cam work together to bias a pair of ferrule release pins inward and outward of the rod, selectively holding ferrules on an outer surface of the rod or releasing them onto a work surface. The package of ferrules used with the dispenser includes multiple sets of ferrules, each set including multiple ferrules uniformly stacked on a spindle. Each spindle has one open end that can pass through an opening in a handle of the dispenser and down a center bore of the dispenser for loading the ferrules from the spindle onto the dispenser.

摘要： Photographic elements, such as still films, motion picture films, paper prints, microfiche, and the like, are provided with a protective overcoat layer which is permanently bonded to the element and serves to protect it from abrasion and scratches. The protective overcoat is formed by coating the element with a radiation-curable composition, comprising an acrylated urethane, an aliphatic ethylenically-unsaturated carboxylic acid and a multifunctional acrylate, and irradiating the coating to bond it to the element and cure it to form a transparent, flexible, scratch-resistant, cross-linked polymeric layer. Protective overcoat layers can be applied to the image-bearing side of the element or to the support side of the element or to both sides.

摘要： A retro-fit kit is described for converting a mechanical door lock to an electrically operative door lock. The retro-fit kit features an auxiliary, solenoid controlled belt mechanism which is secured to the back of a door containing a mechanical lock. The locking bolt of the mechanical lock is removed from the door well, and a switch is inserted in its place. The switch is operatively engageable with the retractor of the mechanical lock. The switch is electrically connected between a power source and the solenoid of the electrical bolt mechanism. The electrical bolt mechanism is normally in a closed bolt position, and will assume an open bolt position when there is a power failure, or when the mechanical lock is actuated.
