摘要： A facial concealment assembly for concealing a user's face when the user is sleeping includes a fitment that is extendable around a user's head. A brim is coupled to the fitment and a screen is removably coupled to the brim. Thus, the screen hangs downwardly from the brim when the fitment is worn on the user's head. The screen has a length of at least 14.0 inches such that the screen covers the user's face and chest when the fitment is worn around the user's head. The screen is comprised of a one-way see through material to conceal the user's face and chest from observers. In this way the user can sleep discretely on public or private transportation.

摘要： The invention relates to apparatus and methods for increasing visual acuity through the use of a bioptic telescope which is at least partially embedded in a spectacle lens. In one embodiment, the telescope includes a vision lens having a vision axis and a first surface for placement substantially in front of an eye of a user. The telescope further includes a plurality of optical elements defining an optical path for viewing an object in front of the first surface. At least one of the plurality of optical elements is positioned such that at least a portion of the optical path is located within the vision lens in a plane substantially orthogonal to the vision axis.

摘要： A wavefront aberration of an eye is determined, e.g., in real time. The eye is illuminated, and the light reflected from the retina is converted into spots with a device such as a Hartmann-Shack detector. The displacement of each spot from where it would be in the absence of aberration allows calculation of the aberration. Each spot is located by an iterative technique in which a corresponding centroid is located in a box drawn on the image data, a smaller box is defined around the centroid, the centroid is located in the smaller box, and so on. The wavefront aberration is calculated from the centroid locations by using a matrix in which unusable data can be eliminated simply by eliminating rows of the matrix. Aberrations for different pupil sizes are handled in data taken for a single pupil size by renormalization.
