The method involves use of a specified amount of a hydroxide-releasing agent, the amount optimized to increase the flux of the active agent through a body surface while minimizing the likelihood of skin damage, irritation or sensitization. Topically applied formulations and drug delivery devices employing hydroxide-releasing agents as permeation enhancers are provided as well.

摘要： Transactions are performed between owners of unique financial instruments, Digital Objects (DOs), issued by an exchange company. Owners of DOs are entitled equity in the exchange company where said equity is generated through operations related to the trade of said DOs. User terminals communicate with a computer system that manages all transactions of the DOs between DO owners. DOs are organized in DO Groups which contain subsets of DO Classes containing arrays of DOs. The amount of exchange company equity that is entitled to each DO is determined based upon the DO Class to which the DO belongs. Equity entitlement is allocated to a DO as a function of relative non-economic performance of an Independent Variable Feature (IVF), which could represent third-party entities, markets, events or conditions wherein the performance is not a function of economic performance of the exchange company. Each DO Class is linked to a particular IVF.

Also provided are pharmaceutical formulations containing a therapeutically effective amount of an active agent in addition to the aforementioned enhancer composition, methods for administering active agents topically or transdermally with enhanced permeation, and drug delivery systems for application to an individual's skin or mucosal tissue, wherein the systems are formulated so as to contain an active agent to be administered and an effective permeation enhancing amount of an enhancer composition of the invention.

摘要： The present invention includes transdermal delivery systems having a polymeric active agent reservoir fabricated from an admixture of polyisobutylene and an insoluble hydrophilic polymer in powdered form, which provide numerous advantages in the transdermal delivery of active agents using basic enhancer compositions. For example, the systems of the invention provide for (1) increased permeation of the active agent through the skin, (2) an improved capability of extracting the active agent and enhancer from the transdermal systems, (3) enhanced structural integrity, (4) good chemical stability, (5) reduced phase separation, and (6) decreased cold flow.
