    • A wireless communication system and handover method for the wireless communication system are provided. A handover method for a wireless communication system including a plurality of femto cells and at least one macro cell within which the femto cells are disposed includes determining, at a Radio Network Controller (RNC), a handover of a terminal to a femto base station based on a measurement report of the terminal and preset handover parameters, sending a radio link setup request message to a femto base station gateway, the radio link setup request message including a uplink scrambling code and an International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) of the terminal and a Logical Cell Identifier (LCID) of femto base stations reusing frequency of a macro base station, searching, at the femto base station gateway, for femto base stations of which LCIDs match the LCID contained in the radio link setup request message, and performing, when only one LCID-matched femto base station is discovered, the handover of the terminal to the LCID-matched femto base station.

    • Disclosed is a Quality-of-Service (QoS) Support method in a mobile communication system including an access terminal, an access network for performing packet data communication with the access terminal, a packet control function for controlling transmission and reception of packet data between the access network and the access terminal, and a packet data service node for exchanging packet data with the packet control function. The access terminal maps a requirement based on an application characteristic to an IP QoS parameter, generates a resource reservation protocol message, and transmits the resource reservation protocol message to the packet data service node. The packet data service node maps IP QoS information to be transmitted to the access terminal to QoS information needed in the access network, and transmits the mapping result to the access network via the packet control function. The access terminal receives data including QoS information from the packet data service node, and performs communication according to the QoS information.

The system and method for controlling accounting according to quality of service (QoS) information of a packet data service system, comprises allocating by a packet data service node QoS based on QoS profiles transmitted from an authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) server and setting by the packet data service node a service instance which is able to differentiate applications according to QoS levels, the packet data service node having received the QoS information requested to be set from a mobile station, and after service is started, adding by the packet data service node the allocated QoS information to accounting information including information regarding an amount of packet data transmitted to the mobile station so as to transmit the allocated QoS information to the AAA server.
