摘要： The invention relates to a venting device (1) for an electrochemical battery (90). The venting device comprises at least one inlet opening (2) for receiving gases venting from the battery (90), at least one outlet opening (3) for venting the gases received from the battery (90), and at least one flame arrester element (4). The inlet opening (2) is in communication with the outlet opening (3) via the flame arrester element (4). An explosion chamber (5, 6) is located within the venting device (1) on the side of the flame arrester element (4) which is directed to the outlet opening (3). The explosion chamber (5, 6) is arranged for developing and temporarily storing an explosive mixture of the gases received from the battery (90) and oxygen from the ambient air, which explodes in case a flame occurs within the explosion chamber (5, 6), thereby blowing off the flame.

摘要： An improved data compression method and apparatus is provided, particularly with regard to the compression of data in tabular form such as database records. The present invention achieves improved compression ratios by utilizing metadata to transform the data in a manner that optimizes known compression techniques. In one embodiment of the invention, a schema is generated which is utilized to reorder and partition the data into low entropy and high entropy portions which are separately compressed by conventional compression methods. The high entropy portion is further reordered and partitioned to take advantage of row and column dependencies in the data. The present invention enables not only much greater compression ratios but increased speed than is achieved by compressing the untransformed data.

摘要： A method is provided for predicting a value of a designated rock or fluid property in a subterranean geologic volume. A first predicted value of the designated rock or fluid property is also assigned to a volume of a multi-dimensional, multi-scale model. A first predicted value of seismic response for the model volume is calculated from a response model using the first predicted value of the designated rock or fluid property, wherein the response model is responsive to changes in predicted values of the designated rock or fluid property. A synthetic trace is generated and iteratively compared to the corresponding trace obtained from one or more sets of actual seismic data to determine a difference while consistency is maintained between the types, scales and dimensions of values and data. The first predicted value of the designated rock or fluid property is adjusted in response to the difference to create a second predicted value of the designated rock or fluid property, wherein the second predicted value generally reduces the difference.
