    • The invention relates to a perambulator comprising a frame and a push bar assembly pivotally connected to both sides of the frame for pivotal movement between a forward position and a rearward position. In a known perambulator of the type defined above, pivoting of the push bar assembly requires manual operation of a number of catch hooks, thus involving a considerable risk of faulty operation and consequent injury. In contrast thereto, the perambulator according to the invention is provided with two stop members on each side of the frame for limiting the pivoting movement of the push bar assembly, and a manually operable locking member disposed at an intermediate position therebetween for preventing the push bar assembly from being pivoted from one position to the other in its rest position.

    • A muscle enhancement device having two elongated tubes telescopically engaged with one another so that a first of the tubes slides axially within a second of the tubes. A spring is positioned within the second tube so as to bias the first tube to normally extend outwardly away from the second tube. The first tube provides a horizontally oriented, curved contact force distribution means designed to be positioned in contact with a surface, such as the abdomen, and the second tube provides an elongate horizontally oriented handle designed to be grasped in the hand. Thus, to exercise a muscle group such as the abdominals, the user simply positions the curved force distribution means against that portion of the body and pulls the handle toward the body with enough force to compress the spring between the two tubes. A visual monitoring means allows the exerciser to see how far each cycle of exercise motion progresses so as to motivate and control the exercise in terms of difficulty and consistency.

    • A folding pushchair has a chassis provided on each side with two chassis struts (6, 7) carrying wheels (8). The struts are pivotally connected together, and swing out of a folded position, in which they lie side by side, into a position of use, in which they are secured by means of a fastening device (14). This device has to swing upwards to release the struts but a seat, and hence the weight of a child in the pushchair bears down on the device (14), thereby avoiding accidental folding in use. The folding pushchair is designed so that it can be self supporting in a stable upright position when in its folded condition.
