    • A pipeline pressure testing assembly has a fitting defining a flow path and having a port on a wall of the fitting into which a pressure testing device is removably inserted along a central axis of the port for pressure testing. The port is circular, larger than the interior diameter of the pipeline and located at or above the tube forming the flow path through the fitting. The fitting has a recess encircling at least part of the flow path and opening to the port to receive the testing and sealing devices. The recess is formed by two opposing walls inclined relative to the central axis of the recess. The recess walls at the top of the flow path by the port are spaced apart a distance as large as the pipe diameter for cleanout and inspection. A tubular valve stem screws into the testing device and has a rotary valve blocking flow through the tubular valve stem. Flow through the fitting is blocked with the rotary valve closed and the tubular valve stem in a first position. Flow through the testing device is allowed with the rotary valve closed and the tubular valve stem in an open position. With the rotary valve open, flow through the tubular valve stem is permitted when the tubular valve stem is in either the first or second position to provide multiple drain and fill options.

    • A method and device for pressure testing a pipe line is provided wherein a fitting is inserted into the pipeline by inserting male ends of the pipeline into female ends of the fitting to define a flow path through the fitting extending along a longitudinal axis. The fitting has an internal recess cooperating with a test slide to block flow through the fitting. An externally accessible port allows insertion and removal of the test slide. The test slide has an internal recess in which a pressure release slide moves to open a hole to release pressure, and to close the hole to block flow through the fitting for pressure testing. After testing and the release of the fluid test pressure, the test slide is removed and a finish slide is inserted into the recess. The finish slide has an opening located and configured to coincide with the flow path through the male ends of the pipes, and to block the recess to provide a substantially uniform, cylindrical flow path through the fitting.

    • A clamp assembly releasably secures a plumbing pipe to a support. The assembly has a clamp base releasably connected to a clamping block by pawls that releasably engage a pair of ratchet arms extending from the base. Each of the base and clamping block has two inclined surfaces forming a generally V-shaped notch that opens toward the pipe. A cap is optionally placed over one or both of the V-shaped notches and is interposed between the notch and the pipe. At least one resilient leg or a flange may extend from the base opposite the ratchet arms, with the flange and/or the arms resiliently engaging opposite sides of the support to hold the clamp assembly in position.

    • An adjustable regulator of the type having fluid coupling oil within a cavity exposed to ambient pressure and overlying a diaphragm which operates based upon imbalances of said ambient pressure and an intermediate pressure zone on the other side of said diaphragm. The adjustment of the spring on the diaphragm is accomplished by means of a cap screw which is screwed into the sidewalls of the regulator within the cavity holding the oil. The oil is prevented from draining from the cavity by a second diaphragm overlying the oil in the cavity which can flex based upon changes in ambient pressure. The cap screw has a threaded extension in the form of a stem and tool surface on the other side of said stem for turning said cap screw. The stem passes through the second diaphragm in a sealed manner to prevent flow of coupling fluid between the interface of the diaphragm and the stem while at the same time allowing for adjustment by turning the cap screw in its adjacent threads so that compression can be changed with regard to the spring thereby adjusting the entire regulator. A further improvement is a valve seat which deters delamination of the valving surface between the metal of the valve seat and the sealing material by the sealing medium extending into an intermediate pressure zone to help prevent delamination from the metal surface.

    • A first stage scuba regulator operates to supply breathable air at a pressure of say, about 125 psi above ambient to a second stage demand regulator. The first stage regulator includes a piston subjected on one side to ambient pressure, and on the other to downstream air pressure, and so arranged as to open when the ambient pressure overpowers downstream pressure by a preset amount determined by a bias spring and to close when downstream pressure rises to the present amount. Instead of directly conducting outside water to the first side of the piston, an inert barrier fluid of high molecular weight is used that fills the piston chamber. Low temperature silicone grease is the preferred material. The barrier fluid is retained by a porous closure that offers very limited restriction to the flow of water, but significantly greater resistance to the flow of the barrier fluid. The mechanism is protected from malfunction due to icing and is isolated from sand, silt, coral and other particulate matter having deleterious effects upon rubber seals and other parts of the mechanism.
