摘要： Provided are alkyl lactyllactate compositions that can be prepared from (1) lactide or alternatively lactic acid, and (2) a hydroxyl containing compound such as an alcohol, preferably a fatty alcohol or an alkoxylated alcohol, with (3) an acid catalyst. Preferably, the fatty alcohol contains from about 6 to 18 carbon atoms, such as lauryl alcohol. The alkyl lactyllactates can be used as surfactants, emulsifiers, skin feel agents, film formers, thickeners, rheological modifiers, etc., for personal care and other application areas. Compositions containing at least one alkyl lactyllactate are also provided. The compositions can further contain at least one surfactant.

The forward end of a longitudinally elongated bait threader is attached to a rear end of the leader. A buoyant, bowling-pin-shaped, bobber is slidably mounted on the leader between the hook and threader. The rear end of the threader is pointed. In use, the pointed end of the threader is inserted longitudinally through a sandshrimp tail. The tail is moved forward over and past the threader, thence forward along the leader and onto the bobber so as to substantially enclose and surround the bobber. The rear end of the threader is then attached to a double swivel that is coupled to a weight and a fishing line.

摘要： Unsaturated alcohol compositions are obtained by reducing a metathesis-derived hydrocarbyl unsaturated ester. Also disclosed is a process for preparing an unsaturated alcohol composition, where a metathesis derived hydrocarbyl carbonyl compound is reacted in the presence of a silane compound, an organic solvent, and a catalyst system prepared from a metallic complex and a reducing agent. This mixture is then hydrolyzed with a metallic base, and then mixed with organic solvent. The resultant mixture is then separated, washed, dried, and/or purified to produce the unsaturated alcohol composition. The unsaturated alcohol derivatives are useful in many end-use applications, including, for example, lubricants, functional fluids, fuels, functional additives for such lubricants, functional fluids and fuels, plasticizers, asphalt additives, friction reducing agents, plastics, and adhesives.
