    • A double-lumen catheter is made of two generally coaxial tubes. The tubes are joined, at their distal ends, by a sleeve inserted between the tubes, the sleeve being bonded to both tubes. The inner and outer tubes are connected, respectively, at their proximal ends, to first and second hubs. The hubs are bonded together. The distal ends of the tubes may be formed into a tapered tip, preferably having a rounded edge. The proximal ends of the tubes can be connected to external fluid devices. The invention also includes a method of making the catheter. According to this method, inner and outer tubes are separately formed, and the proximal end of each tube is connected to a hub. Then, the inner tube is threaded into the outer tube, until the distal ends of the tubes are near each other. A sleeve is inserted between the tubes, at the distal end, and the sleeve is then bonded to both tubes. The hubs are also bonded together. Thus, the tubes are firmly joined to each other, but only at their distal and proximal ends. The outer tube has a plurality of holes, located around its circumference, at the distal end, to provide access to the outer lumen. The distal tip provides an exit port for the inner lumen. The catheter can also be provided with a dilator/stylet which is initially inserted within the inner lumen, and which is withdrawn after the catheter has been inserted into a patient.

    • In a catalytic converter, a sheet metal housing encloses a pair of sheet metal catalyst pellet beds and a stud extends through aligned openings in the members of the housing and both inner and outer member of each bed to reinforce these members and also maintain a certain spacing between the members of each bed. The inner bed members are self-piloted and fixed together in alignment at their respective stud openings prior to their assembly in the converter. An enlarged diameter portion is provided on the stud to maintain predetermined spacing between the inner and outer members of one of the beds and a spacer is added which cooperates with the enlarged diameter stud portion to hold the inner bed members in position while also maintaining a predetermined spacing between the members of the other bed. Then on external clamping of the housing members to the outer bed members at the stud, such clamping and spacing is permanently retained by welding the housing members to the ends of the stud.

    • The present invention relates to panel array antennas, and more particularly to a cooling system for an antenna such as a jet stream conformal panel array antenna. In one embodiment, a panel array antenna for an aircraft includes a closed-loop fluid flow path that passes through the panel array assembly and dissipates heat to the jet stream outside the aircraft. A fluid such as pressurized air passes through this closed-loop path, flowing through strategically-placed openings in the layers of the panel array assembly and flowing over and around the hot electrical components in the panel assembly. The air is heated by these electrical components, and the heated air then flows through the flow path under the top sheet, dissipating the heat to the jet stream outside. In one embodiment, a panel array antenna includes a panel assembly having a top layer through which the antenna radiates or receives a signal, and a fluid flow path through the panel assembly. A first portion of the fluid flow path is disposed below the top layer such that a fluid passing through the first portion of the fluid flow path is in heat transfer proximity to the top layer.

    • A system for forming an integral image includes an optics system spaced between an active digital mask and the first side of an integral lens array, where the integral lens array has a light sensitive material layer spaced relative to the second side of the integral lens array. The active digital mask may provide the image directly to the integral lens array, or the image may be focused on a projection screen placed relative to the integral lens array.     • A valve assembly in an air brake truck system which meets minimum response time specifications required by authorities and the maximum response rate required by the wheel lock control system for efficient operation. The valve assembly varies the effective orifice size between the air supply inlet and the outlet to the relay valve. The high minimum specified rate is provided for a short period of time for initial response and the lower maximum rate for efficient operation is provided for the remainder of the stop. The valve assembly has a timing section and a variable orifice section. An initially effective large orifice area is provided by moving the valve from its rest or low rate position with an initial application of control pressure, and passing control pressure through a timing orifice to counterbalance the initially applied pressure in a desired short period of time, thereby permitting the valve to return to its first position which establishes a smaller effective orifice area through which the supply pressure flows. The valve is balanced by suitable balance ports and areas so that the operating conditions of the variable orifice section do not affect the operation of the timing section.
