摘要： A pen needle includes a hub having a first opening at a first end and a second opening at a second end. A needle is connected to the hub and extends through the first opening at the first end. Access to the needle through the second opening is prevented by a sterility barrier, which has a movable portion that is moved along a longitudinal axis of the needle to provide access to the needle. A storage container includes a housing having a plurality of cavities to receive a plurality of pen needles. A cover is rotatably connected to the housing and is rotated such that an access portion thereof is aligned with one of the cavities, thereby providing access to the pen needle in the cavity.

摘要： An infusion set (201) includes a base (221) and a flexible catheter (242) movable from a first catheter position disposed substantially entirely within the base (221) to a second catheter position in which a free end of the catheter (242) is disposed externally of the base (221). An introducer needle (234) is located within the catheter (242) and is movable between a first introducer needle position disposed substantially entirely within the base (221) and a second introducer needle position in which a free end of the introducer needle (234) is disposed externally of the base (221). A torsion spring (281) is activated to move the catheter (242) from the first to the second catheter position and the introducer needle (234) from the first to the second introducer needle position to facilitate insertion of the catheter (242). The introducer needle (234) is thereafter moved by the torsion spring (281) back to the first introducer needle position to store the introducer needle (234) within the base (221) with the free end of the catheter (242) remaining disposed externally of the base (221).

Position of the inserted needle can be maintained by providing a separated and isolated needle hub, main base and main hub of the infusion set that can isolate the inserted needle from external forces such that the needle can be maintained at a depth to deliver content to the upper 3 mm of skin surface during normal use.

摘要： A telescoping portable drug mixing and delivery device configured to store a dry medication separately from a liquid component, wherein a tensile force applied between the housing and a cap opens a valve and causes displacement of a fluid from a first chamber to a second chamber while simultaneously mixing the fluid with a dry medicament prior to injection. An extendable needle guard is provided over the delivery assembly which prevents premature injection as well as inadvertent sticks or other cross contamination of a needle. The needle guard can also form part of a secondary trigger mechanism which injects the reconstituted drug after the mixing stage is complete.
